Chris S. Buckley
Chris S. Buckley has written, produced and directed five short films, and took home the 2007 award for best short film fantasy at the New York International Film and Video Festival, for the film, "Halfway There." He's studied at two colleges, as well as Cal State University, and has written short subject and feature length narrative screenplays since 1990. He also holds an honor certificate as a member of the first graduating class of the San Francisco School of Digital Filmmaking, while remaining a published songwriter and independent music producer. Other books by Chris include "Call Out The Dolphins," a collection of short stories & verse, and the memoir, "Man Of A Thousand Jobs," now out of print.

Preface
In the 1954 drama, The Barefoot Contessa,
Ava Gardner’s character, a cabaret dancer, asks a major film studio director, played by Humphrey Bogart, if he can help her get into movies, and maybe to become a star. His response: If you can act, I can help you. If you can’t, nobody can teach you.
With ninety four cinematic credits prior to this film, you’d have to believe that writer/director Joseph L. Mankiewicz knew whereof he wrote when he penned the epic line for Bogey to deliver. And a mouthful it is. Acting, like any other art form, requires natural ability. Without that ability, no amount of experience, classes, lectures or seminars can make the hopeful performer any more able to achieve his or her goals. I was first made acutely aware of this theatrical factoid when I was one of those hopefuls,
