About this ebook

She’s mine…

But will her innocence break all my rules?

I’ve never wanted anything like I want heiress Imogen Fitzalan. I married her to secure my empire— but my untouched wife has ignited an undeniable hunger in me. Desire beyond reason wasn’t my plan, yet now I have a new aim: to strip away her obedience, and replace it with a fierce passion to match my own…

“I felt the passion between them, I felt her regret and I felt her love. The author wrote this so beautifully, it moved me.”

Goodreads Reader on The Bride’s Baby of Shame

“A passionate romance with revenge and family secrets providing plenty of drama.”

This is only the second Harlequin Presents that I read that was told in 1st POV. I'm not a big fan of books written in 1st POV... Too easily authors end up 'telling' the story with 1st POV and having the narrators 'talk' to the reader instead of showing which is a big pet peeve of mine.Anyways, this story was very slow to start for me. Too much backstory and telling in the first chapter for my liking. The story (romance) didn't pick up until the middle and started to become invested in these characters but because the first half was bogged down to the build up of the wedding there wasn't much time for the hero and heroine to get to know each other in the second half. There was a blissful honeymoon but then the magic wore off and they were separated. Then boom, reunited and pregnancy. There were things that were left unresolved like the heroine's sister's relationship with the hero, or did I just miss it because it wasn't all that interesting...? I think the real lack in this story was because the characters had no real goals. The entire premise for the arranged marriage was because the hero wanted something from the heroine's father which I didn't quite get. It seemed to allude there was blackmail or something more deep than just a title but that was all the hero wanted was a blue blood heroine??? The heroine didn't inspire for anything not even to be a good wife and the hero didn't seem to want anything concerning his career, his wife, etc. after the marriage. He just left her. I would've been okay with the lack of character arcs and goals if the characters got to spend more time with each other during the marriage besides having fabulous sex. I still just can't get over the first half being a fit boring and the build up lacking... I think that was the real kicker for me.
