Expecting a Royal Scandal is long on character development and a bit short on secret-baby-trope, which is a good thing. What an 'unexpected' treat! This is a beautifully told story of a long-suffering-and-innocent-heroine and a difficult-yet-ultimately-valiant hero. With themes and plotlines which bring to mind one of my all time favorite reads, Sally Beauman's Destiny, along with a tiny dash of Dangerous Liaisons, Expecting a Royal Scandal is a perfect Presents.
