Chapter I : The Truth
Three years after the most recent and outstanding events, a calm Colt city shows its unique state. A city populated by privileged individuals of a privileged society. Individuals who experienced in their lives historical changes that marked a new course for the destiny of terrestrial humanity. A city that was the center of attention for several years during the most extraordinary scientific development that this humanity has never witnessed. A population that has had the joy of living in its own flesh the great emotion that was perceived during those years of great scientific and technological feats. A city with sophisticated inhabitants, modern people, knowledgeable people with a high level of education. A society where intellectual growth is a collective goal. A proud and happy society. How could these townspeople not be happy? How could they not be proud? in that city a page was written within the history of humanity that will be remembered forever. How could they not be pleased? since in this city is where the most brilliant mind that has ever existed on the planet Earth lives and has made its greatest scientific discoveries, the most outstanding scientist, inventor and researcher. A man who has been able to make great scientific feats and created the most unique inventions alike. creations that were considered to be impossible for the vast majority, but now are something common, something as ordinary as anything else.
A city of calm people, a city of civilized people, a city of privileged people. There is no greater privilege than having as a citizen of that popular city someone like Ektohr Melloh. A man loved and admired by all, How could they not love him? with his great advances in Nano robotic he managed to overcome diseases, aging and death itself. The most renowned and admired man of that city, the most known person, an exemplary human being, someone who has always defended the idea that all problems in the whole Cosmos have a solution. A man dedicated to the search for solutions to those problems motivated by the desire to make the lives of terrestrial humans happier.
A man who understands perfectly that the true reason of science is to make life of the human being more comfortable, safe and efficient. Someone who does not give up to get everything he pursues, even if his enemies rise like a huge tide wave against him. A brave and hard-working intelligent being who has achieved so much, someone who still thinks and is not afraid to do so, someone very special and unique. The years have passed and even our beloved scientist, genius and inventor does not decline, yet does not show to be completely satisfied with what he has achieved so far, it is as if something in his life had not yet been fulfilled, It is as if something was missing.
Three years after all those magnificent achievements, after the phenomenal news that changed mankind forever. three years after his best triumphs. There he is, the most brilliant mind of planet Earth, the greatest scientist, inventor and researcher. There is Ektohr Melloh, inside his office in Meva-Lab, the place where he has worked most of his life, the same place where he has been very thoughtful lately, immersed in an intellectual solitude, a rational meditation. Our beloved scientist and researcher for months has been thinking inside his office, taking notes, writing, but without giving as a result any new invention. no new discovery, no new experiment. What has Ektohr Melloh been thinking about lately? What will his new plan be? Does he has a new secret project? Is there anything that worries him?
Something was not common, some idea was in his mind, some concern overwhelmed him. It was an uncomfortable situation and although for many it was not enough to worry, it was enough for Larry, his most loyal assistant who perceived it.
Larry: Mr. Melloh ... Mr. Melloh?
. Melloh: ...
. Larry: Mr. Melloh, are you all right?
. Melloh: Oh..Larry sorry, you were talking to me?..., how can I help you?
. Larry: I just asked if you were fine Sir...
. Melloh: Sorry Larry, I've been a bit distracted and thoughtful lately..
. Larry: Thoughtful, Sir?
. Melloh: ...
. Larry: What does that means Sir?
. Melloh: Larry, are you proud of everything we've accomplished so far?
. Larry: Of course, yes, sir...how could I not be?
. Melloh: Have you ever thought about everything we have achieved here in Meva-Lab?
. Larry: There is not a single day when I do not think about all our great achievements, Sir..
. Melloh: Do you really feel that we have done enough and right?
. Larry: You have been my mentor and everything I have learned, from you I have learned, I am absolutely proud of all that we have achieved and at the same time very honored to have worked along you all these years
. Melloh: We have achieved what no one has ever done, we have changed the destiny of this humanity and more
. Larry: Yes Sir, everything has been impressive, you are someone admirable, that's why everyone loves you..
. Melloh: Larry, the purpose of science is to contribute helping terrestrial humanity to solve their problems, to make their lives more comfortable and efficient
. Larry: Sir, do you think we have failed or need to achieve something else?
.
At that moment Melloh slowly turns his head down for a few fractions of seconds that emulated an eternity, with the typical silence that only the empty has, the silence that characterizes the need for an answer, even the lack of a response is something to be worry about. Larry looks at him and with a certain feeling of concern smiles at him while sitting down next to him. He was looking at him as the one who is looking for his gaze. Larry: Sir, what have you been thinking about lately?
. Melloh: Larry, we have solved several of the major problems that have affected humanity for millennia
. Larry: ...
. Once again that silence returns in response to the stimulus of disappointment and frustration. Something was not right, something was not like always, something was going through the mind of the great scientist and inventor, something that is really worrying. Larry got shocked and confused at the same time, since he had never seen his mentor like this before, how to behave in front of such a novel and unexpected situation? How? After raising his face and taking up a standing position, Melloh looked into his eyes. Melloh: Even science has its own limits Larry....
. Larry: What does that means Sir?
. Melloh: thanks to science, technology and creativity we have been able to achieve great discoveries and create magnificent inventions...thanks to science we were able to solve problems that for many were impossible, thanks to science we were able to rip out of man the evils that plagued him, but with the help of science we can not answer puzzles..
. Larry: What do you mean, Sir?
. Melloh: Larry, from the beginning, since the first man walked on Earth, mankind has asked questions, riddles and mysteries that have not yet been solved
.
Larry was interested in all that Melloh tried to explain to him, because he understood that our beloved scientist and researcher would explain the reason for the change in his mood, the change in his behavior and his scientific apathy. Staring at him, so he does not lose the slightest detail, he does not want to be distracted with anything, because a distraction could take him apart from not understanding the main reason of his mentor behavior. Melloh: Larry, we have solved problems, but we have not answered questions or solved any riddles, if answering a question is not solving a problem, then what is it?
. Larry: What do you want to do now, sir?
.
Melloh: With science we can not answer much Larry, but with research
. Larry: Research?
. Melloh: Yes, Larry, the only way to find answers is through research, it is time to get out of this lab and get away from inventions and technology for a while
. Larry: But, technology and inventions have served us so much...
. Melloh: we will not respond to every riddle just by using technological devices, even if these are very useful, there are many questions to answer left..
. Larry: based on which of these riddles would you like to start a research project?
. Melloh: I think that the most fundamental of them is the topic about the true origin of the terrestrial human races, civilizations and man itself, there are many theories, many hypotheses and different scientific opinions, but still nothing conclusive, nothing that shows completely irrefutable evidence
.
The origin of man? That is the great concern that this great genius and inventor has had for months, that has been the cause of his change of attitude, that has been the cause of Larry's great concern for his beloved mentor. A man who gives everything for humanity, a man who wants to give to Earthly human beings what they have sought for centuries, an answer. Melloh is a great genius and within his mind there is a goal, a purpose, an ideal, his mission as a researcher. For it is not enough to only solve problems that have affected mankind forever, but to answer the questions that man poses. For Melloh, the existence of an unanswered question is the existence of a problem. At last everything has been ventilated, at last the doubts have been cleared, it was necessary an explanatory words that justify the behavior of our dear inventor, this brings peace to Larry's heart.
This opened up an infinity of new possibilities and an expansion of the application of knowledge in new fields, to live new experiences. These were undoubtedly something that Larry, in the secret of his thoughts already wanted to experience, because the monotony of life had become an evil vice. It was not fair for such outstanding people to live those months thus, that habit of life was not suitable in people who have accomplished so much, as much as changing the course of an exalted and surprised humanity, because of their scientific achievements. It was not fair that they had given so much for many and at the end, they did not receive something from everyone, what better reward than the admiration of an entire planet. the highest sympathy and respect of its inhabitants. Larry is surprised by Melloh's words, for he never imagined that Melloh had such a concern, but in reality as our beloved genius and researcher says, even science has its own limitations.
Larry: seek for the origin of man?
. Melloh: Yes!
. Larry: the origin of all terrestrials civilizations?
. Melloh: Yes!
. Larry: the origin of the human races?
. Melloh: Absolutely!
. For a moment Larry is silent, staring at his eyes and with that smile that characterizes him every time his mentor intends to do something challenging. Larry: Many have tried to answer that great enigma Sir, many have tried to conclude with some satisfactory answer and yet no one has succeeded..
. Melloh: we will give the answers to those questions to terrestrial humanity as the most precious gifts
. Larry looks into his eyes, smiles and turns his face down, while thinking inside of his mind; Once again he wants to do it, once again he wants to achieve something big and I know I can not stop him
. Larry: You are aware that it will be a lot of work for us, right?
. Melloh: Just tell me when it has not been like that, were the other things we've achieved simple and easy?
. Larry again smiles at him and turns his face down while his beloved mentor waits for his essential response. Larry: I agree with you, when we will start working and how?
. Melloh: We will start tomorrow, Larry, we will first evaluate all the information that our dear researchers have succeeded deciphering so far and then, we will come up with a plan to develop our own research strategy
. Larry: Excellent idea, Sir, by my side I will try to collect all the information that is at my disposal too
.
They both agreed, everything was in balance, their thoughts were homogeneous. It was as if both had been feeling the same for years, it was as if they both had the same need. It was a mutual feeling, it was a shared need, it was an assimilated desire. Both could not stand that monotony, the change was imminent. A new project would change things, this would bring a new beginning, a new enthusiasm for both, a new opportunity to achieve great things.
All this was very new for Larry, since he did not know fully that investigative facet of his beloved mentor, he has learned a lot from
