Jenny Lamond was a qualified teacher, who created the Jenny Lamond method of the teaching of spelling. It was Jenny who first compiled the Sound Dictionary, with 42 sound groups and over 4500 sample words. For her contribution to remedial education she was awarded the Australian Order or Merit.
