This exhibition and accompanying catalogue would not have been possible without the generous support of the University of Louisville’s Hite Art Institute. Iconoclastic Fervor: Sally Hazelet Drummond’s Road to Abstraction was curated by Hillary Sullivan in partial fulfillment for her master’s degree in Critical and Curatorial Studies from the University of Louisville. Peter Morrin and John Begley were invaluable resources in refining the content of this catalogue. Lois Dodd contributed the essay on Sally Hazelet Drummond. Zaurie Zimmerman provided permission to reprint a World of Silent Painting
on behalf of her late father and Arts in Louisville Magazine editor Leo Zimmerman. Leslie Friesen and Izzy Cable provided the guidance and creative vision for the design of the catalogue. Jessica Kincaid supplied photography and exhibition installation support. John H. Clark, the artist’s nephew, and owner of Old Stone Press was instrumental in publishing this volume and was a generous lender. I am also indebted to other lenders, Craig W. Clark, Sally Hazelet Drummond’s niece, and Alexandre Gallery which lent many of the works in the exhibition and provided photographs. In particular, I would like to thank Marie Evans, Julia Benjamin, Maria Stabio and Phil Alexandre from Alexandre Gallery.
A special thanks is also due to Sally Hazelet Drummond and Craig Drummond for all of their involvement and support.
