About this ebook

Please enjoy this complimentary prequel novella for The Eccentric Earl, a Bi-Curious Historical Romance.

My name is Henry, Earl of Freemont, and I am an eccentric. My inability to read people's expressions makes it difficult for me to connect with strangers. When I met Charlotte, I knew she was the woman I wanted to marry. Unlike the other society ladies, she treated me like a man and not as an aberration.  The question was, did she feel the same way about me?

Lady Charlotte: In a sea of potential suitors, Lord Freemont stood out for more than his handsome countenance. He had a way of speaking which appealed to my sense of the ridiculous. We developed an instant rapport. Although we just met, I had a feeling our futures would be forever intertwined.  Would he ask me to marry him? And if he did, would I say yes?

I came up hard against a gentleman who stood on the edge of the dance floor. I turned my head to apologize, but the words escaped me. I stared into stunning brown eyes and a strange sensation coursed throughout my entire body. Every nerve seemed to come alive with awareness.

Henry, the Earl of Freemont. The Adonis. Or so the society ladies called him.

He stared back at me longer than was proper and Lord help me, I couldn’t tear my gaze away from his arresting face.

My dance partner tugged at my elbow, attempting to lead me toward my aunt who stood amongst a group of society matrons.

I beg your pardon, I said to the earl in a breathy voice that was unlike me. For the first time in my life, I was truly awestruck by a man.

Freemont frowned and tilted his head, falling into step beside me. Why?

Why am I begging your pardon? I asked, confused by his question.  The ballroom was packed full of people, and I wasn’t sure if it was me or the room as a whole, but I was unusually warm. I flicked my fan open and waved it in front of my face. The other man, still guiding me through the throng, loosened his hold.

The crowd parted as we approached, and I noticed several women staring outright at Freemont, some
