About this ebook
What happens to glass between the time it falls into the sea and it washes up on the beach years later?
This wordless story flows along one possible course of events, following a soda bottle dropped overboard from a ship early in the twentieth century, only to have a fragment of it discovered on a beach by a young girl decades later. Over time, the bottle has been influenced by waves, currents, the sea floor, and sea creatures, all pictured in lush full-color renderings by artist Nicole Fazio.
Fully immersed in the art, children and adults alike can trace the passage of time through the Journey of the Sea Glass.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Plot: Told entirely through illustrations, this book tells the story of the long transformation between a glass bottle and piece of sea glass. Brilliantly told, the story starts in sepia tones and colour is gradually introduced throughout to illustrate the passage of time.My reaction: I was so excited to find this book! My prairie students are fascinated by sea glass since most of them have never seen an ocean, but I have a hard time explaining how the little gem they are holding was created. I can’t wait to show this to them!!! Fazio does an amazing job telling her wordless story. Her use of colour is particularly genius! Recommended Age Level: All ages
