GOOGLE DEFINES CRYPTOCURRENCY as a digital asset designed as a medium of exchange wherein individual ownership records are stored on a ledger. There’s a new asset class being created currently as a hedge against a failing fiat currency. When you think about the advancement of technology over the years, you realize that we can send messages (via e-mail and text messages) and information (via the internet) at the speed of light, but when it comes to moving money there’s always a delay and friction of some sort. Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, stated Money should move as fast as information does. In comes the internet of value. It stands to solve a multitude of looming financial issues such as cross border remittance fees, transaction times, system manipulation, etc. With the talks of negative interest rates due to the current pandemic and its effect on the economy, cash is becoming slowly obsolete. Just the mention of negative interest rates and hyper-inflation will dissuade the public from carrying cash. In the next chapter I will further explain this digital asset class,
