Humans who are not looking for love only get three chances to find it. And after Ivy sabotages Grant's last chance, her boss, Aphrodite, sends her to earth to right her wrong. She has until Valentine's Day to help him find his soul mate.

But the more she's around him, the more she wants him for herself, even though she knows that can never be. A Cupid and a human? Unheard of.

Alicia Dean

Alicia Dean writes in a variety of genres, among them, paranormal and romantic suspense. She lives in Edmond, Oklahoma and is the mother of three grown children. Alicia loves creating spine-chilling stories that keep readers on the edge of their seats. She's a huge Elvis Presley fan, and loves MLB and the NFL. If you look closely, you'll see a reference to one or all three in pretty much everything she writes. If she could, she would divide all her time between writing, watching her favorite television shows--such as Dexter (before it was canceled, she's still hoping he comes back), Vampire Diaries, Justified, and True Blood--and reading her favorite authors...Stephen King, Dennis Lehane, Michael Connelly, Lee Child, and Lisa Gardner to name a few. Cupid's Beau - Alicia Dean

    Inc.

Something in Aphrodite’s expression told Ivy she didn’t want to hear about the other method.

You shall travel to Earth and make sure Mr. Crawford finds love.

What? Travel to Earth? Ivy’s knees weakened. She’d never been beyond the clouds. This was her home. Her sanctuary. Earth was crowded and dirty and dangerous…

That’s right. You have until Valentine’s Day to help him find his soul mate.

But how am I going to do that?

You will be provided with the means. Your success depends on you. As you know, we work hand in hand with Made in Heaven, the matchmaking service. You will pose as an employee of their agency. You will get to know Mr. Crawford and find his perfect match. You will make sure he falls in love.

    And what if I fail?

Aphrodite’s mouth turned down in sympathy. The look made Ivy’s insides quake.

If you fail, Aphrodite said softly, sadly. Then you’ll become a Ripper.

Ivy’s heart plummeted to the pit of her stomach. A—a Ripper? The words were barely a whisper.

    I’m afraid so.

But—but— Ivy couldn’t speak, couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe. Rippers were…horrible. The worst of the worst. They were evil monsters. Rippers used lead-tipped arrows, the opposite of gold-tipped ones. They caused people to feel anger and hate. They ripped lovers apart. Ruined lives. Ivy would rather die than become one of those hateful fiends.

    Praise for Cupid’s Beau:

I absolutely loved this little tale about an adorable Cupid named Ivy who just can't find it in her heart to shoot love-arrows at her designated target. How can Ivy possibly be expected to find a woman for Grant to love when she, herself, loves him so dearly? But can love between a Cupid and a human even be possible? Seems she'll have to come down from her cloud to find the answer. I highly recommend this tasty Valentine treat to all readers!

Cupid's Beau by Alicia Dean is a fast read and laugh-out-loud funny. From the first sentence, I was sucked into the story and didn't budge until I'd completed it. By the time I finished, I was a believer--in precious Cupids, serious heroes and happily ever-after. I highly recommend this fun romance. You'll look forward to Valentine's Day!

    Chapter One

Ivy drew the arrow back, zeroing in on the elderly man’s chest. She had to make sure she shot him directly in the heart. She only had once chance to fell her target.

She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Halfway through the breath, she released the string. The arrow zipped through the air and landed dead center in the man’s heart. His eyes widened. His breath stalled. He reached a trembling hand out to Clara, the blue-haired woman sitting next to him.

Herb? Herb, are you okay? Clara frowned.

I—I have something to say. The cafeteria noises in the nursing home nearly drowned out his words. I don’t have family to speak of. As you know, I lost one child, and my son who’s left, well, he doesn’t have much time for me. I’ve spent the last five years feeling sorry for myself. Waiting for death.

Clara pursed her lips. Now, Herb. That’s no way to think. You have plenty to live for.

I do now. Clara, I love you. I don’t know how much time I have left, but I want to spend it with you as my wife.

Clara’s lip trembled, and tears surfaced in her pale blue eyes. "Oh, Herb.
