    Liturgy - Gregory Yatskar

    Liturgy

    THE DIVINE LITURGY

    Copyright 2016 Gregory Yatskar

    THE  DIVINE  LITURGY

    OF  THE  ORDER  OF  SAINT  JOHN  CHRYSOSTOM,

    COMPILED  BY  THE  SERVANT  OF  GOD  GREGORY  IN  A.D. 1994

    I. THE  LITURGY OF THE WORLD

    Choir.       From on high look upon them that sing unto Thee,

    let the righteous rejoice in Thine House, O Lord,

    for ever and ever. Amen.

    Glory to the Maker of heaven and earth, and of every living creature.

    Praise the King Almighty Who cannot be seen,

    for He reigneth clad in wisdom.

    Praise God all the ranks of His luminous hosts,

    and all mortals after their kinds;

    Both shady cedars, and herb shedding seed;

    behemoth, and flesh that swarmeth;

    all ye tongues, and peoples, and cattle, and beasts;

    all ye creeping things and winged birds,

    Glorious, glorious, glorious art Thou, Sabaoth.

    Blessed be, O Father, and Thine Only Son,

    the eternal Word incarnate,

    Who without change of His essence divine

    came unto His Own creations,

    and His Own knew the Light not,

    but as many as believed,

    met the Lord exclaiming thuswise,

    Open mine eyes, Messiah!

    Make me clean, O Son of David!

    Hosun-nuh', hosun-nuh' in the highest!

    Shew Thyself, O Comforter, Spirit of Truth,

    bring me forth into the safe place.

    Gird my loins with faith, O Redeemer, for Thou

    art a Monarch most clement; Fortitude of the forefathers:

    Having set free the race of Adam

    through the Power of Thy Cross,

    Thou shalt build up Thine Holy City,

    Lamb, the Light sole thereof,

    that the godly man shall be risen

    in Thy fold, O good Shepherd,

    by Thy word. Amen.

    Let every one who hath breath praise the Lord God.

    Lo, O Zion,

    we will sing unto Him,

    as ye did of lore,

    O David the king, and sons of Asaph.

    Seek ye the Lord, for He will find you, O works of His right hand.

    Repent ye, receive our Saviour, and render thanks.

    In Judah is God known, His Name is great in Israel.

    May Thy servants exalt Thee for ever. Amen.

    May the sound of Thy praises reach unto Thy footstool.

    For condescending art Thou,

    O Master awesome and high.

    Nigh the river granting life

    Thou feedest Thy flock.

    Priest.  Blessed be the Kingdom of the Father and of the Son

    and of the Holy Spirit;

    Shine, O new Jerusalem prepeared as a bride.

    O inscrutable Word that hast
