The Secret of Tiny Cloud - PG Woodhouse

    Chapter 1 – Introduction – LDS Version

There are two versions of this book, a Christian version and a LDS version.  In publishing two versions I’m not saying that Mormons aren’t Christians.  What I am saying is that the LDS version has more chapters that speak to issues that are only relevant to those who identify themselves as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Regardless of which version you are reading, there is one thing that is common to both editions.  That is that the story you are about to read has some very explicit sexual descriptions.  As such some people might feel that it is pornographic, especially those who hold strong religious beliefs.  To that end I suggest that if you have any concerns of this nature, that you read chapter 37 on morality first.  In it, I will take up this notion and will hopefully dissuade your fears in this regard.

This book has three parts.  The first part consists of a fictional story entitled The Secret of Tiny Cloud.  The story is written in an episodic fashion.  This means the book isn’t written in order other than the second and last chapter.  If you read only the second and last chapter you will know for a large part the whole story.  Some of the chapters I purposely left as outlines so that you can use your imagination to fill in the blanks.  While the story is mine, the book is yours to read anyway you like.

The second section is a series of chapters on various aspects of the theories behind the book and other related ideas.  I added these to explain the story of the book and in part to provoke a dialogue.  In this I’m not talking about between you and me but rather between you and your partner, and you and the Lord.  If you disagree with anything I have written, then that is fine with me.  I don’t think it is important that we agree.  I do however; think that it is critical to your relationship with your spouse that you agree with your partner and the Lord.

The third section is interspersed throughout the book and consists of a series of challenges, questions, and exercises that you can use to internalize more fully the teachings in the book.  This three part approach is based on a theory that you will discover in the book.

While the book is designed for couples, there is one section that talks about sexuality from a single person’s perspective.  My hope is that the book will be the vehicle for an increased understanding and sensitivity about human sexuality but more importantly that this information can help couples to find greater love, commitment and joy in their relationship.

    Chapter 2 – The Sunrise

Some answers come right away, some come in time and some never come.

As the sun rose over the far hills she heard her mother calling out, Tiny Cloud, the tribe is gathering.  It was the day that the decision was to be announced.  The tribal elders had been in council for some time and rumors were the currency of the day.  In the time leading up to the announcement anyone with something to say could quickly gather a crowd of listeners.  Tiny Cloud had listened to the discussions, not saying anything but secretly wishing her dreams would be fulfilled.  As she thought back to that day when the announcement was made, she remembered how it sent a wave of nervous anticipation thru all the tribe.  Everyone knew it would happen eventually but because it was something beyond their ability to control, most chose to ignore the inevitable.  But now it was decided.  The Elders had spoken.  The tribe had become too large and the Iustus ceremony would soon take place.  In it the tribe would announce who would be forming the new tribe and heading off into the wilderness to find a new home.  Tiny Cloud knew in her heart that she would be going.

Tiny Cloud was a member of the Behr tribe.  They were a people who had a long tradition going back into the mystical past where the dividing line between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom was part fact and part legend.  Thru the eons of time the tribe had established certain cultural norms and the Iustus ceremony was at the heart of how the tribe functioned on a day to day basis as well as how it dictated their long term survival.

Later that morning, after the decision of who was going was made, as she lay in the grass the dew mixed with the dust from her movements and created an earthen smell that she always loved.  It reminded her of being a small child again and she loved to relive that memory.  She looked up, reflecting on the events of the morning, to see the clouds gently drifting in front of the sun, teasing her with their shadows.  She could imagine them speaking to her and saying, You are special and we are here to obey your command.  As she willed them to part so as to let the sun’s rays warm her skin, she looked down at her body.  It was the body of a young girl, yet in the past few years it had obtained a maturity that amazed her.  She knew she was entering the fullness that her mother had often spoken of.  Just then a tiny cloud covered the sun and she smiled as she reflected on her name.

She loved to recall the story of how her mother had given her a name.  A name like no other she thought - Tiny Cloud.  And she loved to lay and look at the clouds searching for the perfect one.  But her thoughts soon turned to the announcement.  She imagined what mother would say when she told her that she wanted to be part of the new tribe.  But Tiny Cloud you are much too shy!  You only like to sit and listen to others.  How will you be able to deal with your shyness in such a small group?  Where will you hide when it comes to the nightly passion ceremony?  Don’t you understand what that means?  To display yourself in this way!  Don’t be foolish my child.  The tribe would never consider picking you.  Put your thoughts aside on this matter and turn yourself to more practical things.

Yes, Tiny Cloud said to herself.  I am shy but I know my own mind and while the thought of being sent with this new tribe scares me to death I know in my heart that I need to go.  A force within me, something much bigger than my fears is driving me and I cannot deny the truth within me.

There were other urges that were strong within her but she was always aware that she must not give into them with a boy.  And after all there were plenty of other ways to satisfy her urges.  She recalled the many times while bathing that she would let her hand linger a little longer and she would soon feel the emotions overcome her.  Then there were the other girls who would freely exchange touches with each other.  Each of them was unique and she enjoyed their playful caresses but she also understood that there was something different in the ways the boys would touch themselves and she yearned to discover how that would feel.  The giving and receiving of loving touches was something she had learned as a young child.  Her mother had shown her how to please herself at a very young age and encouraged her to seek out other young girls to share this pleasure.  But she was very aware that this type of activity was to be only shared with other females.  The tribe was on a constant alert for any type of sexual activity between young girls and young boys, least an unwanted pregnancy occur.

But that was something for the future.  Now she was looking forward to hearing the tribes decisions and she was sure she would be chosen and that thought warmed her heart as the sun warmed her face and she smiled as if to say yes, I know that I’m special and if he were there watching he would have agreed.

Chapter 3 – Preparing to Create

Bo surprised Tiny Cloud one day when he said he would help her clean the fire pit.  As he went about this task, he would sift thru the cold embers and carefully put aside those pieces of charred wood that he deemed suitable.  He was looking for a few pieces that would serve as the tools for a project he had in mind.  Soon he had a sizable cache.  Tiny Cloud had come to accept this little ritual.  Any questions she had were ignored.

Bo next turned his attention to the skin of the deer that he had killed that summer.  He had tanned it so that it was soft and smooth.  He loved to run his hands over it as he worked the leather and now it was ready for the next stage.  The piece of leather was an irregular shape.  Bo had made small holes all around the perimeter about two inches apart.  When he had tied small strands of leather in each hole he laid this down on the ground and then placed four sticks around it.  Each stick had the bark removed and on one end was a short Y shape.  By placing them such that one end of a stick was nestled in the Y of another he created a frame that when the ends of the leather were tied to the sticks it created a one piece structure.  Bo worked slowly moving around from one piece to the next tying each piece of leather until he returned to his starting point.  Then he untied the next strand and gently retied it.  He would circle the whole structure many times tightening as he went until the leather was stretched tightly across the frame so that the tension on the strips kept the frame locked together.  The one final step was to wet the whole thing and let it dry.  When the leather dried it shrunk and this locked it together permanently.  Now it and he were ready.

Bo and Tiny Cloud were lying in bed that night.  It was in the latter part of the cold season and the sun’s rays had warmed their tent such that they didn’t need to have a fire.  As they lay there Bo spoke.

I need your help. he said.

Tiny Cloud was struck by this frank admission.  She couldn’t remember the last time when he had asked for her help.  Bo was both proud and competent, and this kept him from needing any help, especially from a woman.  Life had changed so much for them now that they had been joined together and she and Bo were still finding their way in this new monogamous relationship.  She thought he was having the most difficulty coping with their new circumstance.

What do you need? she asked.  As the words left her mouth she recognized the position she had taken by asking the first question.  It was a lesson she had learned and continued to learn, but it was something she was unable to overcome.  Something in her compelled her to take this subservient position in every conversation.  It was a quality that endured her to Bo, but it was one that she struggled with and she wished she could learn to respond in some other way.  What that was wasn’t something she had discovered yet but she ached over her nature.

I have a project in mind and you are the only one who can help me. Bo said.

This statement struck her with such force that she suddenly felt very powerful.  Bo had never made such a frank admission to her nor anyone else for that matter.  The effect of his outward sign of need caused her to take a small quick breath as she pondered the possibilities.  She had recognized the signs in his changing habits.  The nightly gathering of charcoal was the most obvious.  Her curiosity was peaked and she asked.

    What can I do?

Again a question and she chided herself.  But before she could add anything else, Bo spoke.  The story he told began with his childhood and how he would sit and stare at the scenes before him.  He would study the shape and how the light would create shadows.  It was in the contrast of light and shadow he found the meaning of life.  On the one hand, there was the bright sunlight.  And on the other, there was the dark of night.  But it was those times when the light was just right that the contrast was greatest and he knew that life was like this changing light.  Sometimes life was clear and bright, and sometimes life was dark and foreboding but mostly life was somewhere in-between.  It was the combination of light and dark that most intrigued him and he wondered why they never seemed to exist in the same scene.  Now that he was older he knew why and he wanted someway to capture this.  He needed her help.  As he outlined his plan and why he needed her help her feelings were of surprise.  This was a side of Bo that she didn’t know existed and she wondered what else there might be about him that she didn’t know.  Ignoring this question, she quickly said, Yes.

Thank you said Bo.  And he laid out his plans for the next day.

    Chapter 4 – The Passions

Tiny Cloud lay naked on the bedding, her body illuminated from the light of the fire.  She was lying on her side with her legs bent at the knees like a small child when it is first born.  But when Bo entered their tent and she became aware of his presence she slowly turned her upper body to him only leaving her legs turned to the side.  Her right arm curled up and made a nest for her head to rest on and her other arm gently touched her stomach.

How Bo enjoyed these moments.  Nudity was something that he had experienced his whole life.  Young children, both girls and boys, young girls, young women, and old women would often be nude while changing or bathing or just walking around as they enjoyed the freedom from their clothing on those days when it was too hot.  Yet as he stood watching Tiny Cloud he could feel his heart starting to beat ever faster and he knew that his penis would soon be erect.  Both her beauty and the sight of his excitement never failed to cause him to wonder.  Why did he feel so?  And why now did her body excite him so?

It had been some years since they were joined in the Covenant ceremony.  How strange it was as he thought of the differences between now and that time when the new tribe had traveled to their new home.  In the beginning, as each woman would give herself to the men of the tribe the passions would flow in way that was so different from those he felt now.  Then it was social and essential.  Now it was born of a freedom to give and share with only one person.  How different were the two events, yet how meaningful and important both seemed to him.

He knelt down beside her and slowly started to stroke himself.  She lay still with her eyes closed yet he knew she was awake.  As the excitement built, he gently touched her breast with his penis and he could see her quiver.  He moved it around her erect nipple and the feelings soon overwhelmed him and he could contain himself no longer and he covered her with a creamy white fluid.  She lay perfectly still and waited for him to lie beside her.  She felt him slide down next to her.  He put his head on her breast and pressed his lips against her bare skin.  As she lay there, she could feel her passions being aroused.  She became aware of every sensation.  The smoke from the fire still lingered on, serving as a reminder of what they had just experienced.  She could hear the sounds of the rest of the tribe; the babies crying waiting for their mother’s breast, the dogs fighting over some scraps; whispers of other lovers close enough that you could hear their voices yet far enough away that you didn’t know what they were saying.  And that thought focused her on him and she wanted to hold him and hug him and become drunk in his passion.  He raised his head and gave her one little kiss on the lips, a warning or perhaps a promise of things to come.  He went back down on her breasts and as he returned she opened her eyes and she saw his lips parted by his tongue.  As he drew closer to her she closed her eyes, moved her hand to her chest, and gathered some of the gift he had given her.  And as his tongue touched her lips she touched herself.  The two events were timed so perfectly yet so naturally that they were unlike anything she had felt before.  The shock of the sensation caused her to gyrate as she had never done before.  She drew in his tongue, drank freely from it and held it tightly within her mouth by pulling in her breath.  Her heart pounded and the blood rushed thru her body until she was overcome with pleasure.

Bo had tears in his eyes as she pulled on his tongue with her mouth but he knew he must not spoil the moment.  There would be plenty of time to heal and remember the moment perhaps with a laugh as he would tell her of his pain and how her pleasure was all he cared for.  But this wasn’t that moment.

Soon she released her grip and Bo moved away from her, lay his head down and like most men, went fast to sleep.  This always amused Tiny Cloud.  But her body was too full of the glow of the moment for her to be anything but amused and she reached down and pulled up the covers for the night air was starting to creep in as the fire slowly ebbed.  She reached over and touched him.  His strength was her strength.  His passions were her passions.  His thoughts were her thoughts.  His pain was her pain.  The unity of that moment, the fusion of their passions, the absolute exquisite nature of him and her, both so different yet not so different and this sealed them together as one.

Chapter 5 – The Wisdom of the Elders - Part One

There is an oft repeated aphorism; those who don’t remember the past are condemned to repeat it.  It applies equally to individuals and groups.  And in a hunter/gatherer society, prior to the invention of writing, the telling and retelling of stories was a critical link to the past, as well as the best way of preparing for the future.  So it was that Tiny Cloud and her fellow tribesmen would gather every night and listen to their elders around the camp fire.  All of their stories had an implied or explicit message but all were important if the tribe was to survive and survival was at the root of all their stories.

The stories were designed to convey the wisdom that the tribe had gathered over the years.  And most of them gave meaning to the rituals that the tribe engaged in.  Some of these rituals like the nightly lovemaking were created over long periods of time after generations of ancestors had tried various ways of reproducing and had experienced varying results.  Some variations had disastrous results and these formed the basis of some of the stories.  Others were much more successful and these lessons formed the rituals that the tribe followed.  One of the most mystical rituals was the moon ritual.

Of all the cycles of nature for the tribe the full moon was the most ephemeral, yet it was also the most sensual.  Compared to the daily cycle of the sun which was something that even the very young understood, it was the cycle of the moon and how it was tied to the sexuality of the tribe that created the aura around its cycle.  What connection this monthly cycle had and how it was connected to the monthly sexuality of the females was one of their legends.  And thus it was that their ancient ancestors had devised a series of elaborate rituals to give meaning to this connection.

Because the ritual dealt with adult sexuality, it was not something that was shared with the young.  The ritual began as the full moon arose in the sky and after the young had been put to bed for the night.  All the adults would gather around a prepared spot.  In the centre of the spot they would have erected a single log standing straight up and planted deep into the earth.  All the tribe would be seated in a large circle around this log and the ritual would be led by the spiritual leader of the tribe.  The symbolism of the log planted into the earth connected with the timing of the ritual was not lost on the tribe but it was not something that was discussed.  Instead
