HealingJourneyNorvelRohrerPic1.jpgENDORSEMENTS
Our health is one area in which we seem to have great problems experiencing God’s redemptive plan for our lives. Infirmity’s voice says, I will keep you so weak that you wither and lose the strength to bring forth your destiny.
Faith is the key to overcoming the voice of infirmity. Choosing to believe the Word of God builds our faith in the impossible, including our faith in God’s desire and provision for our healing. Healing Journey: Discovering God;s provision for healing by Norvel Rohrer is a wonderful journey through the Word of God to not only apprehend the faith necessary to press into divine health, but every healing expression purchased in redemption. As Rohrer shares, Our whole lives depend solely on one thing: what we choose to believe.
Healing Journey is a valuable resource to help you choose faith and the fullness of healing God has for you. As you read this book, declare that you are being liberated to accomplish the whole of your destiny.

I recommend this book whole-heartedly. I edited it, and I will assure you, it’s the best book you’ll ever read.
Norvel and Eva are wonderful and beloved friends, and we get together every chance we get. However, it was Eva that I met first: 23 years ago at Christ For The Nations, a Bible school in Dallas, TX, where I was the International secretary. That meant I was responsible for getting international students to come to school there. We had 225-240 international students each semester, and they came from almost every nation in the world.
Eva was from Mexico. After three tries, I finally got her to come on an international scholarship. The trouble was that Mexico doesn’t let people come to the States easily, fearing they will not come back. Eva eventually became my secretary! She also became one of my closest friends.
Then Norvel came along a few years later. I was invited to their wedding. It was beautiful-one of the most meaningful and unique weddings I have ever seen.
A few years passed by, and circumstances arose to where I had to sell my home. Months went by, and no one was interested. Little did I know that the Lord was saving it for Norvel and Eva! What a terrific and amazing God we serve. They still live there, and I wish them all of God’s favor and blessing.
While editing Healing Journey, I was touched by the depth of the explanation of how God heals through redemption, the Passover, and Jesus, our healer, the promised Messiah.
If you’re wondering IF God heals, and how and why He heals, this is the book for you. Well written, I highly recommend it. Not only should you read it, you should study it. Then you will be ahead of 90 % of the Christians in the world!

I first had the inspiration to write this book in December 2006. I began laying out an outline for what I wanted to write, but for many years, that was as far as it went.
Then one day in the summer of 2014, my wife, Eva came to me and said she had found a website that would help me with writing my book. The website was by Ray Edwards, and he was offering what he called a rapid writing course. According to Mr. Edwards, he could teach you how to write a book in 30 days or less. I was interested, so I signed up for the course.
Although Mr. Edwards methods were not conducive to writing the kind of book I had in mind, it did serve to motivate me to continue writing my book. I spent the next 15 months working on my manuscript. When my book was approximately 2/3 finished, I showed it to Daryl Hicks, a writer at the ministry where I worked, and was greatly encouraged by his response to what I was writing.
My goal then was to finish the book by the end of 2015. I could sense the finish line was near. I took a week off work and dedicated it to finishing the book. After that week, the manuscript was ready for editing. A friend I had recently met, Soloman Ofore-Ansah, offered to help me with the editing of the book. Another friend, Rhea Mayfield, also offered to edit the manuscript for me.
Along the way, I met another writer, Velma Crowe. Velma had started a writers group which was meeting in her home Friday nights. I attended many of those meetings. They encouraged me to continue writing.
Soon after that, another young lady with whom I work offered her help. Aimee Montgomery had written, and self-published several books at the time. She had just finished putting together a course teaching people how to self-publish their books and offered it to me. This course provided everything I needed to bring this work to completion. Thank you Aimee!
So with Aimee’s help, I am sprinting to the finish line! I am confident I will have this work published by the end of August, 2016. Thanks to all who have helped and encouraged me in the process. My prayer is that everyone who reads this book will be blessed, and receive a deeper revelation of God’s Word concerning healing.
Introduction
I had a dream.
If you had asked me when I was a little boy, maybe 9 or 10 years old, what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have pointed to the sky, and said that I wanted to fly an airplane for a living. Not just any airplane. I wanted to fly a Boeing 747! I don’t know when, or where, or why, my interest in airplanes developed, but this was my dream. In the small town in Pennsylvania where I grew up, there was a small private airstrip right
HealingJourneyNorvelRohrerPic2.jpgbehind our house, and an airplane was hangered there. Whenever I saw someone preparing to take the airplane for a flight, I was there begging them to take me for a ride. Only once in my life do I remember being taken for a ride in that airplane.
In spite of the many obstacles to me ever becoming a pilot, my dream had wings. Around 19 years of age, I started taking flying lessons at a local airport, and over a 4-year period, received all of my ratings from private pilot, instrument rating, up through to a commercial pilot certificate. I then proceeded to obtain a flight instructor certificate and spent the next three years teaching others to fly an airplane.
Soon after, I obtained my multi-engine rating and landed my first full-time piloting job. It was flying a Cessna-310, carrying canceled checks for the banks. Have you ever wondered how your checks returned to you so soon after you sent them off? Well, that was us, flying them around in airplanes.
My second job was also for a company flying canceled checks. However, this company was much bigger and utilized Lear Jets for this purpose. When I left that job in 1999, we operated a fleet of more than 30 Lear Jets, and over 100 piston-powered twin-engine aircraft, crisscrossing the entire United States. I spent nine years as a captain of a Lear Jet for this company.
I was then hired by another freight company originally flying DC-9’s, and ultimately flying Boeing 747’s around the world. I spent more than a year flying the 747. It was an awesome experience. I traveled to approximately 25 different countries during this time.
Pursuing my dream was a huge gamble for me. There were a lot of questions to be answered. Many what ifs
ran through my head. One major question I had to contend with at the time before I ever started out, had to do with my health. One requirement to be able to fly an airplane is you must carry a medical certificate. To be employed by an airline, one was required to carry a first-class medical certificate. So what was the issue, you might ask?
I grew up in a home with extensive medical difficulties. My father had his first heart attack in 1973. He had bypass surgery that year, and the doctors told us only to expect him to live another five years. He did live another five years, and more. He died in 1987, 14 years after his first heart attack. During those 14 years, he was in and out of the hospital 39 times. He also had diabetes, and between the two diseases, his health was constantly being challenged. Along with his physical condition, he also had mental and emotional challenges, which only compounded his physical condition.
My mother was fairly healthy physically but had some emotional challenges. After the birth of each of 4 children in our home, she would need to spend a couple of months recuperating. I was the third child in the family. The last baby born to my mother was still-born, not making it into this world alive.
HealingJourneyNorvelRohrerPic3.jpgI understood well the concept of inheritance. I was well aware that the conditions that plagued my parents could well be passed down to me. As a matter of fact, I seemed to have some of my own emotional challenges growing up. Could I ever overcome these hurdles, and fulfill my dream? One of my fears was that I would be successful at accomplishing my dream, and somewhere in mid-life, experience some illness which would disqualify me for a medical certificate. If that ever happened, all my efforts and money expended on my dream would have been wasted.
At that time in history, I remember that anyone applying to American Airlines for a pilot position was required to fill out a family tree outlining all of the major illnesses in their family. If American Airlines felt you were too much of a health risk based on these factors, they would never hire you.
Apart from Divine intervention, I had no assurance that I would be healthy enough in my lifetime to pursue my dream. I grew up in the Mennonite church, and occasionally we would pray for the sick, but we were not taught that God would always heal, but that IF it was God’s will, he might heal. In my early 20s, I began attending an Assembly of God church, which was more aggressive in praying for the sick, but still not everyone was believed to be healed. However, we did experience some miraculous healing during this time.
I attended this church for approximately two years, and it was during these two years that I began asking myself, what does the Bible say about healing? That was the main question in my mind those two years. Can I safely spend all of the time and expense to become a professional pilot, and not have to worry about my future health? Thus began my pursuit of understanding Divine healing in the Bible. I have attempted to better understand this subject many times in the years since then. This book is the culmination of my journey toward understanding Divine healing up until now.

The Origin of Sickness
In Genesis chapter one, we read the story of creation. We see how in six days, God created the heavens and the earth, and all that was in it. We have been told that God gave man dominion over all of His creation, and was commanded to multiply and subdue the earth as well. Six times, we read that God looked at what he had made, and said that it was good. Finally, after everything had been created, we read in verse 31, (NKJV) the following:
38340.pngThen God saw everything that He had made, and indeed, it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
What does it mean when God says that His creation was very good? At this moment in time, sin had not yet entered into the world which He had created. God is a God of order. Everything would have been in order and its proper place. We see Him relating to the first couple He had created, walking with them in the garden in the cool of the day. Adam and Eve and God had constant fellowship. There
