History
Billions of years ago, far from the eyes of all, blessed with the gift of protection an ancient species begins.
A species known in myth and legend, only seen when the balance of power tips when it should not, correcting the universe.
From the Elemental Lord Of Shadow Ethiker rose a powerful species. The Tanarians a species of immense power and unfathomable arrogance only equalled by their will to become more and more powerful. Their leader Vicale the oldest of the kin of Ethiker the creator leading them into a great empire, an untouchable civilization. Great Sceptres, Massive Spires and great floating cities extending out from a Colossal structure, the great Etherspire of Tanis seeming almost endless reaching towards the sky. Great Ships of unfathomable size rest on the ground over the horizon, these ships, these Citadels, the pinnacle of Tanarian power and technology, their greatest achievement in weaponry. Mighty Citadels surround the Etherspire. A great ring of Citadels out shows the Massive Metropolis in sheer size and beauty. In the middle of these Massive Ships is one that puts all other structures to shame. The Tanis Citadel, the greatest weapon ever built. The Etherspire and the Tanis Citadel stand out as the greatest structures of all the others. In the Etherspire Vicale watches over all. From the great observatory he watches over the universe, with the ability to observe everything the Tanarians keep the balance of power from falling to the shadow.
Several billion years of Grace and Calm now shattered, the great city of Tanis burns, death and destruction rain down from space, death and infernos decimate the surface. A sudden explosion emanates from the Etherspire. A large group of people swarm into the Etherspire. Screams are heard and weapon blasts silence the screaming.
Up in the Observatory Vicale stands watching his city burn. the Glass walls of the Observatory are gone the floor and ceiling are black and burned. In the distance a wall of fire spreads outwards levelling everything it touches. The great wall of fire spreads as if it has hit a dome, immersing out of the wall the Tanis Citadel lays unharmed. The door to the Observatory is blown apart as soldiers run in with their guns locked on Vicale, from behind a good looking male in a well-made suit walks through them and stands in front of them. The power of the Citadels will be mine, the Eldin Crucible is mine, all that is left is to remove you
says the man
Vicale’s eyes go pure white and a bright blue light emanates from them, an unworldly voice emanates from him You slaughtered my family tore my love apart, destroyed all I care about….. Now you have the audacity to threaten my life! You are nothing
The word sends a blast of White energy through the Observatory nearly knocking the soldiers over. Then the man pulls his weapon and points it at Vicale. I will end you before you can even move, Your actions are ill advised
With that the man raises his gun, Suddenly a great energy blasts from Vicale and 500 feet around him is engulfed in bright energy. When the energy dissipates the entire engulfed area is gone, Vicale hovers in the air.
The Citadel: Prologue
The war between Tanarian and Tanarian is over, the homeworld is gone, Those that survive do so on the Tanarian Citadel. After two billion years of strength and power, only dust and ash remain. A broken people on a broken ship search for a new home. What they find is the bitter taste of evil and the test of strength and survival. Slumbering for two hundred years on an ancient and powerful ship, nearly extinct with only one person to lead them to safety. This is the story of those who fought for their lives.
Chapter 1: The Wake Up Call
Two hundred years after the Tanarian Citadel made it out of the place it was built, systems that slept for decades are starting to wake up, people who slept in peace in stasis find themselves waking from a long journey. In a dark and quiet corridor a sudden sound of pressure being released pushes back the quiet, lights that have not been active for so long suddenly activate, the hallway is covered in a blanket of deep red light. Suddenly with a rusty scraping sound a door slides open, mist fills the corridor.
Then after the mist is sucked from the corridor rusted vents shut and a man steps out of the stasis chamber, his built muscles tense as the cold stale air hits his body. A loud mechanical clanking sound can be heard as the ship's life support systems wake up and turn on. Vicale's pure white eyes suddenly change to grey as he notices that the lights are red and consoles only displayed in emergency situations are starting to slide out from the walls and the metal covers retract displaying the screens.
Vicale slides his pants on and puts on his black shirt he takes from the shelf that slides out from beside the chamber. He finally takes his Tanarian style military jacket and puts it on. On the left side of the jacket is an insignia representing him as an Eldarian vanguard, suddenly the lights start to blink and the Console across the corridor powers up. Vicale walks over to the console as he fixes his color. He notices that the Citadels FTL drive overloaded and
