Rob Scott

Speculative fiction, realistic fiction. Rob Scott writes in a style all his own, unique, quirky and usually "out there" in a manner that commands the reader to think. Speculative fiction means it could very well happen, if it were deemed appropriate for someone to try to implement the idea being presented.

    Forward

There are certain principles that are right and wrong and that is why Paradise was created.  Located off Interstate 70 near Wilson Lake a 100 square mile plot of land is surrounded by a 5 acre wide (1,044 foot) wide 60 foot deep mote.  The location was excavated in 2009 just after President Obama assumed office.  While the United States was believed to be entering a time of transition into democratic rule, Paradise was under construction for the purpose of isolation from the chaos ensuing the nation.

A gate and the mote prevent anyone from being able to enter Paradise without the authorization of the owner, Hunter Green, a 37 year old male, raised Republican in Englewood, Florida during the Regan era.  In 2004, Hunter married Olivia, 38 years old, raised Republican in McCallen, Texas.  Hunter has two children: son Noah and daughter Noelle.  Hunter created Paradise with funds generated by implementation of a financial algorithm he discovered and sold to mutual fund executives in December 2008.  In exchange for the knowledge of the intellectual property, 15,000 shares of every publicly traded company in the world were conferred to Hunter Green in exchange for the algorithm implemented at each company.  Approximately 150 million shares at $40 dollars per share or $6 billion dollars was conferred to Hunter Green during 2009.  This money was used to borrow on margin, multiplying the leverage by five to short the companies not immediately acknowledging the algorithm.  He shorted 750 million shares of stock, causing the decline in value of $8 trillion dollars that year or about $16.00/share decline in value per share of stock.  He collected $12 billion more that year, paid his taxes and used the money to buy the 64,000 acres, dig the mote, excavate the land, install a power plant, water plant, utilities, sewer, 25,000 dwellings and light rail in concentric grids.

Hunter sells enough conferred stock each week to fund his personal trading account with $30 million. He spends $5 million/week acquiring Hunter Corp stock and deposits $25 million per week into The Mutual Fund.

In 2010 people were invited to relocate to Paradise, at first just family.  Because Paradise was not yet established as a city, it operated off of a deed restriction governing basis whereby no entrance to Paradise was permitted to any person if they were convicted of any crime, had any alcohol, un-prescripted pharmaceutical, drug, firearm or tobacco in their possession, or could not prove they were a citizen of the United States of America.

No individual is permitted to own property within Paradise; it all belongs to Hunter Green.  No inhabitant pays property taxes or mortgages.  All retail establishments sell product and services at cost plus 10%.  All property and sales taxes due each year are paid by Hunter Green to the county.  It costs each family less than $800 per month to consume all the food, consumer goods, housing, utilities and services desired.  The only desires left for people of Paradise to strive to accumulate money for are required to remain parked at the entrance of the land and seasonal vacations away from Paradise.

By 2012, 500,000 people inhabited Paradise.  Not everyone lives in houses, since no cars are allowed within Paradise there is very little need for garages and many people choose to live in condominiums for convenience and neatness sake.  At the original Paradise 001, over 100 schools exist from pre-K to college, shops of all kinds, and entertainment venues.  Located just outside the land are Indian reservation casinos.  Paradise employs one armed security officer for every 100 inhabitants even though no inhabitant is allowed to own a gun and has no reason to commit a crime.

Children account for over 60% of the inhabitants of Paradise and are taught in school to appreciate and accumulate wealth, tithe 10% of their income to the church and save at least 50% of their income in their mutual fund account.  Hunter Green is the mutual fund manager and the money is invested in the companies operating with the algorithm he discovered. The average wealth of an inhabitant of Paradise is 100 times annual income.  The value of the mutual fund Hunter Green manages was $2.5 trillion in 2012; it still grows at the annual rate of 25%.  The mutual fund is mostly invested in properties; Paradise is slowly being franchised across the United States.  Every year more plots of 100 square miles of land is purchased, excavated, and rebuilt for the purpose of attracting another 500,000 people to each plot of land.  By 2038 the equipment should be completely worn out.  The mutual fund should own 8.2 trillion acres, inhabited by 12 billion people, each worth $2 million and making 12% of their wealth each year in interest and dividends; $235,000.00 per resident per year; also owning all of the land’s commerce, housing and politics; an estimated $7.5 quadrillion dollar mutual fund.  Hunter would be 59 years old by then.  That was the plan at least.

    Chapter 1

In 9,000 B.C. Adam was created by God.  In 6,000 B.C. there was a great flood and Noah and his family and two of every kind of creature on the Earth survived.  In 4,000 B.C., at the age of 75, God advised Abram he would be the father of a great nation (the Jews), while at that time he and his wife Sarai had no children, he wanted to believe but became impatient and at the request of his wife he impregnated their servant Hagar and Ishmael was born, whom became the father of Islam, the religion of Muslims.

Twenty-five years later, at age 100, Abram (renamed Abraham by God) impregnated his wife Sarai (renamed Sarah by God) and she bore him a son named Isaac, whom became the father of the Jews and later some converted to Christianity.

Two thousand years later the first Chinese dynasty (Hsia) was born.  Two thousand years after that event, Jesus was born. About that same time the Roman Empire began as well as Capitalism.

Six hundred years earlier the Jews were besieged by Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar and the Jews were enslaved in Egypt until Moses was born and led them out of Egypt and into the Promised Land.

Three hundred thirty three years after Jesus was born (300 A.D.) the British Empire ruled the world. Eight hundred years later (1095 A.D.) the Crusades occurred, spreading Christianity by force across the known Earth.  Four hundred years later (1492) Columbus discovered America.

Three hundred years after this event (1776) The United States of America was formed.  In 1818, Karl Marx was born, the father of Communism, which spread across Eurasia quickly after 1849 when revolutions began across Russia and Asia after his Manifesto was published.  A few years later in 1918 the world declared war on Communism.  While China, Cuba and North Korea are the last countries to still operate as Communistic economies, Trading Blocks are the new economic warfare weapons of choice.

    Chapter 2

In 1492, Columbus discovered America.  Roughly 100 years later, in 1607, Jamestown was established as the first permanent settlement in North America.  Located in Virginia, Jamestown was a British settlement.  The Pilgrims arrived in Massachusetts in 1620 and during the next 150 years 13 European Colonies were established.  Between 1754 and 1763 France and England fought for control of North America and England won.  In 1776, North America won their independence from British rule and became the United States of America.

The purpose of America when founded in 1776 was to be able to be Christians and to worship God without the Church
