1st Key – Responding to the Invitation

God’s invitation is ringing out for hearts to be joined with Him in intimate relationship. This invitation is taking the form of His passionate heart of desire knocking on the door of our hearts, seeking for a place of entrance into the depths of our being. He also has a door open in heaven that has swung wide open for those who respond to this clarion call to ‘come up here’ and see the fullness of what He has prepared for those who love Him.

The doorway of entrance into His presence has always been the cross. The Crucified One longs for us to see Him ‘eye to eye.’ Instead of looking at the face of fear in all that surrounds us in our daily encounters, He is saying, Listen to My voice of strength. Allow Me to restore your soul which has been so wounded and damaged by a wrong focus on the swirling issues of your heart and mind. My desire is to be your Friend and your Lover. I know how to care for My own. You must learn to cease your own efforts and trust My finished work on Calvary. You must allow Me to bring the power of My Spirit to bear on your weak efforts to ‘figure things out’ as you lean on your own understanding, instead of trusting Me with all your heart. It is not by your might nor by your power that you enter into the unimaginable rest that I have prepared for hearts that have become one with Me.

The Beautiful One wants us to behold His face and know Him as He truly is. He would take our breath away and export us beyond mere thought to the secret place of His abiding love. He would prepare the way for our hearts to follow Him to that place of deepest love that leaves us undone. He wants to teach us how to not be satisfied with anything less than Himself.
