Lizbona, stolica Portugalii jest jednym z najpiękniejszych miast świata. Została założona w starożytności. W 714 roku zdobyli ją Maurowie, a w 1147, po ponad 4 miesięcznym oblężeniu, z pomocą krzyżowców z Europy, odbił ją z ich rąk, pierwszy król Portugalii Dom Afonso Henriques. Jej najświetniejsze lata to okres wielkich odkryć geograficznych od XV do XVII w. kiedy stała się jednym z centrów światowego handlu i stolicą morskiego imperium Portugalczyków.
W 1755 Lizbona została zniszczona w wyniku wielkiego trzęsienia ziemi, zginęło wtedy od 60 do 90 tys. jej mieszkańców. Odbudowano ja pod kierownictwem pierwszego ministra króla Józefa I, Markiza de Pombal, jako miasto nowoczesne, i z zabudową odporną na wstrząsy sejsmiczne.
W 1994 Lizbona była Europejską Stolicą Kultury, w 1998 gościła Wystawę Światową EXPO, a w 2004 Mistrzostwa Europy w piłce nożnej.
“Lizbona – fragmenty miasta” to fotograficzne zapiski z mojego pobytu w Lizbonie, w okresie świąt Bożego Narodzenia w 2005. To wrażenia, odczucia, doświadczenia – fotografie bardzo osobiste i subiektywne.
Jacek Lidwin
Jacek Lidwin (b. 1965 in Sosnowiec). Lives in Bieszczady Mountains and Katowice in Poland. A visual artist - photographer and book designer. He creates documentary and landscape projects, as well as portraits and theatrical and fashion photography projects. He has visual arts scholarships from the Polish Minister of Culture and the Self-government of the Silesian Voivodeship. He has exhibited his works in many galleries, including the gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts and the Archdiocesan Museum in Katowice, as well as in shopping malls and cultural centers.
