About this ebook

A straitlaced teacher is tempted to break the rules by a wildcard football star in this romantic suspense novel from the author of Love Uncovered.

At thirty-two, Anne Cooper feels the clock ticking on her dream family. She needs a man who checks the boxes on her ideal husband list. The hot football hero doesn’t match a single one—she’s not looking for a player. But spending time with Mr. Wrong feels so right.

Wyatt Pearson knows all about hard work—on the field. In the dating world, his celebrity status has paved his way. But he’s blindsided when he meets the smart, down-to-earth woman who would rather grade papers than watch the Superbowl. For a chance with Anne, he must up his game and approach from the heart.

But as Anne and Wyatt fumble through their feelings, someone else is watching from the sidelines, plotting to win her affections. And if this rival can’t have her…no one will.

If you like Rachel Grant, Cynthia Eden, Susan Stoker, Melinda Leigh, Mary Burton, and Kendra Eliot, you’ll love this thrilling ride!

First, I love a slow burn so I was a fan of the slow start between Anne and Wyatt. I also am a fan of steamy romances and since I curse like a sailor do not mind the language at all. I probably should have read this one when I wasn't on a romance binge because it wasn't as good as a few of the others I read. I do think that the bad guy in this book was slightly overdone making it hard to focus on the romance.

School teacher Anne comes to the attention of two men while out with some friends. One will become the love of her life, the other could destroy her life.A romance with a dangerous twist. Anne's romance with Wyatt can at times overdose on the angst. Anne, like many sweet heroines is plagued by self-doubt and low self-esteem. Hooking up with a local celebrity provides most of the challenges to their romance. A sociopathic stalker determined to win a bet involving Anne at any cost provides additional roadblocks to romance. To Anne's credit, she remains true to her heart, even when it is breaking. If she had given in, even a little, as a result of Devon's machinations I would have liked this book a whole lot less.

I got this book for free from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers. Fortunately, I didn't realize this was book 3 of a series until after I read the book, since I did actually enjoy it. Initially, it seemed like it was going to be the same old thing and completely boring, but the story got a bit more involved and interesting. This is a decent quick read if you want a romance with a bit of suspense thrown into the mix. I may read the other books in the series to see what I missed, though starting in the middle sometimes doesn't work well. The book works fine as a stand alone book. I didn't feel like I was lost at the beginning or like I was missing pieces to the story, which is great.

Love on the Line is about Anne Cooper, a super-organized, always-in-control elementary school teacher. While out celebrating with her friends, she runs into Wyatt Pearson, an ex-professional football player who’s always in the spotlight. He, of course is not her type, as she doesn’t want to be to be with a man who is constantly surrounded by fans and gorgeous, adoring women. She’s not like any woman he’s ever dated, as she doesn’t care about his money and fame, and she actually doesn’t even know who he is. Their chemistry is undeniable, but can they overcome their differences, fears, and insecurities to make a relationship work? To complicate matters, Devon Blackwood, a rich, powerful, narcissistic man has made a bet with a friend that he can get Anne to agree to marry him within 3 months, and he will go to any lengths to win a bet.Love on the Line has an exciting story line filled with action, emotion, and romance. I really like the way Anne and Wyatt learn to talk through conflicts, learn how to communicate with each other effectively, and in the process, learn about themselves and their individual insecurities. Anne and Wyatt are both likable and realistic characters. I also like the sub-plot of Devon trying to win Anne, narcissisticly believing that he could have any woman at any time. It adds a demented twist that made for a great deal of drama and suspense. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the story line of Love on the Line, my personal problems with this book are the language and explicit sexual content. (If it was a movie, it would be rated R.) I know it’s a personal preference, and I know it probably doesn’t bother most people. If you don’t mind the bad language or the sexual content (or are willing to just skip the sex scene), then I think you’ll really enjoy this book. If those things bother you, you probably want to skip this one. *I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

**I have received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review**I really liked this book and I will read again when I get a chance to! This was a really cute and story that I needed to keep on reading. My favorite part of this book is how the author just sucks you right into the story! 5/5!

I received this book as an ARC from Library Thing. Diane Holiday is a good writer, but this book just isn't a favorite. The interaction between Anne and Wyatt can be funny at times. I kinda feel sorry for them both because they're not so great at the whole relationship thing. They are learning though. The psychopath's obsession with Anne adds a very intense element to the story. In the beginning, he tries to portray himself as "the better man," but as the story continues, he becomes more obsessed with "winning" her and winning the bet. He really doesn't care about her. He just cares about himself and his need to always be the winner. It's really sad and very very sickening. This book is ideal for those who love to read sex scenes and anyone who enjoys books with a psychopath involved. For anyone looking for a clean Christian read, please look elsewhere as this book contains sexual scenes, drinking, and foul language.
