ALEAH HIT THE LIGHT button on her watch to see the time. Her stomach gave a funny little flip as she realized she had been eighteen for twelve minutes now. A sense of relief filled her. She would never have to go back to living with her mother and stepfather. Of course, a lot of that depended on Jesse, and how he responded to her idea of staying to help him on his ranch.
