A haunted theatre
A murdered actress
Three cursed teenagers
A secret that devastates them all…
The Dean Wilson Theatre is believed to be haunted by a long-dead actress, singing her last song, waiting for her final cue, looking for her killer…
Now Dust, the iconic musical, is returning after twenty years. But who will be brave enough to take on the role of ghostly goddess Esme Black, last played by Morgan Miller, who was murdered in her dressing room?
Theatre usher Chloe Dee is caught up in the spectacle. As the new actors arrive, including an unexpected face from her past, everything changes. Are the eerie sounds and sightings backstage real or just her imagination? Is someone playing games?
Is the role of Esme Black cursed? Could witchcraft be at the heart of the tragedy? And are dark deeds from Chloe’s past about to catch up with her?
Not all the drama takes place onstage. Sometimes murder, magic, obsession and the biggest of betrayals are real life. When you’re in the theatre shadows, you see everything.
And Chloe has been watching…

‘Chock-a-block with chills, this supernatural thriller also beautifully evokes teenage feelings of uncertainty and how they travel with us into adulthood … While this is spooky as heck, it is also hugely considerate of emotional heartache and distress. Reviews for I Am Dust

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A ghostly dual timeline psychological thriller set in a theatre, where 20 years previously a famous actress was murdered. In 2005 three teenagers play a dangerous game and in the present day a theatre usher is haunted by her past. It’s a story about ambition, obsession, jealousy and betrayal.I found this book quite gripping, I was eager to turn the pages to find out what happened next. However, I did have to suspend my belief at times as I am a bit of a sceptic when it comes to ouija boards, etc. Hollywood has something to answer for in that respect! The two timelines were cleverly and seamlessly woven together. It’s well written with some realistic and believable characters. It’s also entertaining and eerie. It’s possibly not one to read with the lights off, though, if you’re of a nervous disposition or a believer of the supernatural! I have to say it wasn’t what I was expecting, more a tale of the unexpected. Even so, I found it an enjoyable, engrossing and atmospheric read. If you like a good ghost story with a mystery at its heart, you’ll love this one.
