About this ebook

With the holidays approaching, Luca’s plan is to introduce Ethan as his fiancé. Luca wants Ethan to meet his family, but he’s not sure that this is a good idea. Not because Luca’s afraid they might not like Ethan, but he fears that once Ethan meets them, Ethan might not want to marry him.
Ethan is an only child and has these wonderful ideas about Luca’s family. Is Luca’s family the kind you read about and wish they were yours?
Is Luca afraid to bring Ethan home where he could get eaten alive like the unsuspecting turkey his family serves up every Thanksgiving?

    Chapter 1

    Ethan

Idon’t know what the fuck to do? Now I’m overthinking again. Lou had warned me to stay in the moment, enjoy life, not project myself into the future and try to solve problems that haven’t occurred, but I can’t help that, it’s baked into my DNA I suppose, because try as I might I can’t overcome my behavior.

I have this thing I do with my hands that alert Lou that I’m worried about something.

He glances over at me leans in and gives me a kiss. Then he asks, Can I come up? His voice is so sexy that I almost give in.

Of course I want him to visit me, but not now. Aside from my selfishness, I’m a slob. Got that from being the only child with a doting mother. Yeah she really fucked me up by washing my clothes, bringing over food and helping me buy clothes, especially when I wanted an expensive leather jacket, and I’d blown most of my money on a luxurious apartment, a BMW, and clothes and shoes I will never wear in a lifetime.

I told Hayden that he needed a daddy because of his sloppy appearance, but I’m the one who needs one, and I have my daddy, but I’m pretending that I can handle everything myself when the opposite is true.

Some of all the useless shit I spent my money on is still in storage. Not now, Lou. I want to clean up and maybe cook for you to show you how much I love you. They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.

That’s a little outdated the way you can get take out anytime. Lou smiles at me even though he can see through my excuses. I used this excuse before, I think.

I know, but those are my mother’s sayings, and she’s right.

What about your mother? What would she say? I asked just to change the conversation.

My mother would say that if a man love’s you, he’ll overlook your short comings. That’s why I love Lou, he’s a good man and his mother must be the same. Okay, baby, I get it.  You don’t want me to see where you live just yet. I’ll give you your space. Lou smiled.

Something like that. I’m not comfortable letting you see me untidy place. I want everything to be perfect whenever you come over.

Don’t get it too perfect because you want be there long. As soon as I can make arrangements for the wedding and send out announcements, then I’m taking you away on our honeymoon. Lou has everything planned out. I haven’t had time to think since I met him and he’s not going to stop until we’re married.

He just asked me to marry him and I said yes. But that’s not what’s worrying me. I have to say goodbye to my freedom and this apartment.

I open the door after asking Lou not to get out. He hits a button and the window lowers. I look around at the park and the area. It’s beautiful, and if I could afford this house, I’d buy it.

I leaned and kissed Lou, turned and hurried along the sidewalk, found myself standing in front of the door staring as I wondered how I’d tell the old couple that I would be leaving soon. Then there’s Hayden. Damn. I forgot about Hayden. I have to check on him.

I brought Hayden over to Daniel’s club Leather Bound, like a lamb to slaughter. I’d better call him and make sure
