About this ebook

BEDLAM AT THE BEDLAM TAVERN AND INN contains four stories, the first two being completely separate while the latter two share a setting and time frame.

"Lost and Found" follows Candace as she breaks into the apartment of a young man named Jeremiah to find her father's stolen grimoire. When her brash decision puts her at odds with her caretaker, the wizard Crodel, the two most figure out where they stand with one another before Candace loses one more important person in her life.

In "The Price of Honor," a tenuous partnership between thieves begins to dissolve as Sam finds himself backed into a financial corner.

"Career Changes" is the story of Augustus Maltin, a half-uruk factory worker struggling against racist discrimination at work, as well as a fear of consequences if she tries to stand up for herself. When the dwarven workers led by Plimin who have been harassing Augustus follow her to the Bedlam Tavern, she finds meekly accepting their abuse to protect herself may no longer be an option.

The Bedlam Tavern returns in the titular "Bedlam at the Bedlam Tavern and Inn." The same night Augustus is confronted by Plimin, a young thief named Carol finds herself in the most dire straits of her life as a street urchin. When a mobster reveals he has taken Carol's greatest treasure, and has knowledge of her darkest secret, Carol must fight to protect her freedom and stay one step ahead of her family's most dangerous enemies.

    Lost and Found

Candace arrived on the 73rd floor of the Skytouch Tower to find it as empty as planned. She fought the urge to creep along the ornate hallway and instead strode through with the purpose of someone who was meant to be there. When she arrived at Room #7303, Candace dropped to one knee, checking the hallway to make sure she was still alone. Satisfied, she put one hand on the door knob and said, "Beib-li nad qalhga!" Candace waited briefly and then tried the door, finding it locked. She frowned, repeated the incantation, and tried again, but to no avail. Sighing, she pulled a bobby pin out of her pocket and picked the lock. Candace gently opened the door to Jeremiah’s penthouse. Peering into the darkness, she crept inside, closed the door behind her, and went to work.
