The Great First Impression Book Proposal: Everything You Need to Know About Selling Your Book to an Agent or Publisher in Thirty Minutes or Less
()
About this ebook
This booklet from Carolyn Howard-Johnson, a UCLA Extension Writers' Program instructor for nearly a decade, helps authors love the project they most love to hate--writing a book proposal. She has taken the guessing out of the book proposal process. Now there is no need to take expensive, time-consuming classes or spend hours reading a tome to find the voice and format that will propel an author's idea from a dream to reality. This slim book and thirty minutes will do it.
Randy Eller, speaker and CEO of Eller Enterprises, says, "There is only one thing you need to learn from Carolyn Howard-Johnson to succeed...everything she says!"
"Marketing is never easy... Well, it might be if you follow the easy steps Carolyn Howard-Johnson offers up in The Great First Impression Book Proposal: Everything You Need to Know About Selling Your Book in Thirty Minutes or Less. Howard-Johnson's bulleted lists are superior. They are easy to understand, easy to implement, and even easier to read. She means it when she says thirty minutes or less. I will recommend this book to all of our authors and potential authors."
~ Georgia Jones, Editor in Chief, LadybugPress and NewVoices, Inc.
This booklet is the result of multi award-winning author Carolyn Howard-Johnson's extensive work with clients who hate writing book proposals and hate learning how to write them even more. She found herself coaching them through the process rather than doing it for them, for who could possibly recreate the passion an author feels for his or her own book better than the author? In doing so, she found she had written a booklet—not a tome—that took her clients only about thirty minutes to absorb. Voila! The Great First Impression Book Proposal was born.

Praise for The Great First Impression Book Proposal
"…you can't go wrong in faithfully following Carolyn Howard-Johnson's advice in her invaluable, very short-page book proposal."
~ Frances Lynn, author of Crushed
. . . concise yet informative instruction manual on how to write a book proposal, author Carolyn Howard-Johnson offers a long list of golden-nugget-T O-DOs and smart ideas which can help guide writers past the Gatekeepers."
~ Kathe Gogolewski, author and artist
"I just finished reading your Great First Impression Book Proposal. . . .I like your style and encouragement. I was a bit intimidated about finishing my book proposal. I was thinking it had to be stiff and boring. I even have dialogue in mine. I thought I'd have to cut it out. Now, I'll probably leave it in."
~ Wanda Leftwich, author, blogger
"I love [the Great First Impression Book Proposal]! My hushusband was amazed at all the info crammed into this short booklet. You could have charged a lot more. I just revamped my proposal to follow the guidelines in it for my latest book…"
~ Myrna Lou, palmist/psychic/author
You are what I describe as an energy-giver. So many people today are energy-drainers.
~ Dorothea Helms, author and Dayton University workshop attendee
Lists! We love bulleted lists. Anyone can follow steps and find their way to success—anyone who has a good list can anyway. And not all lists are created equal. Howard-Johnson's lists are created superior: Easy to understand, easy to implement, and even easier to read (She means it when she says 30 minutes or less). As helpful information goes, those three things are winners, but she gives us more: a list of other resources for book proposals. I will recommend this book to all of our authors and potential authors at LadybugPress.
