Insensate

About this ebook
Dr Stephen Isso, Medical Examiner, is sent to Rushalyn, a colony planet, to investigate the sudden deaths of six prominent citizens. His holographic autopsies reveal no foul play, yet a pattern emerges: they all hunted Magalunda, part of the indigenous fauna, for recreation. Isso's persistence reveals a conspiracy that involves cryogenic human trafficking, the secrets of world-building and a unique, morally aware source of energy. At every stage his actions are influenced by Amanda, a wild and suicidal plague refugee with PCI - post cryo insensate - a condition affecting many who are woken from long term cryopreservation. It removes the ability to feel, to enjoy, to befriend, to love... such that its victims crave sensation, however dangerous the source. In Amanda's case, her emptiness may prove the key to solving the mystery of this troubled, beguiling planet.
