About this ebook

The legend of Crow is fading. MI6’s most notorious fixer has disappeared. Rumours abound in the covert realm. He’s retired in Mexico. He’s languishing in Evin prison. He’s dead at the bottom of the Red Sea.
Bruce Thorne knows the rumours aren’t true. After all, he started most of them.
He doesn’t want to be Crow any more. But when he agrees to track down a friend’s missing daughter, he finds a trail of deception that threatens to drag him back into the underworld he thought he’d escaped.
Thorne’s used to being haunted by his past. But now it’s hunting him, that’s different. Maybe that legend hasn’t faded fast enough. Because he’s about to discover that it’s not just the girl’s survival at stake. It’s his own.

A relentlessly rollicking thriller from new British writer Jay Klements, perfect for fans of Tom Wood, Terry Hayes or Simon Kernick.

Jay Klements

Jay doesn’t always do biographies. But when he does, he skips over his mis-spent youth with its associated series of improbable mullets, and moves on swiftly to how he currently spends his days. Which essentially amounts to working, writing, listening to terrible Dutch hardstyle and thinking he’s funnier than he really is. He lives in Suffolk with his long-suffering wife and works somewhere in a dark corner of Essex. He is reluctant to reveal the precise nature of his employment, for fear of reprisals. Jay Klements is, in fact, a nom de plume for the same reason. The real Jay also thinks that makes him sound mysterious and interesting, but then he thinks wearing a beard makes him appear edgy and subversive so his judgement can hardly be trusted. Jay has spent a lifetime reading but has no credentials as a writer, other than knowing some long words which he sometimes manages to use correctly. No Good Deed is his first novel. Frankly, at the rate he writes, it may well be his last. He’s been called many things beginning with p but prolific isn’t one of them. He has purportedly begun work on a new story but when – or even if – that will ever see the light of day is hard to guess. Whether anyone cares either way, is even harder to determine...
