About this ebook

She was out for vengeance but ended up falling in love...
Left at the altar by the man she was supposed to marry, Emily West was ruined and she was unjustly banished from polite society. Vowing to get her own revenge on those who had hurt her because she had no one to protect her, Emily decided that she would marry no one but one of the most powerful men in England-the Duke of Ivory. The thing was, Emily had never met him before and when she finally did met him, she realized that he was just as handsome as the devil. He was also rude.

She was out for vengeance but ended up falling in love...
Nicholas needed to get married within two weeks but then, he set eyes on Emily West, the red-haired beauty popularly known as 'The Red Jewel of West'. He wanted her from the moment he had set eyes on her and since she wouldn't be his mistress, he decided that marrying her would solve his problems.

This is a story of two desperate people who needed to marry for one reason or the other and having a marriage of convenience seemed to be their option. Falling in love was never their plan and when they both realized that their agreement stood in their own feelings, the two had to fight for each other.

Horrible book; very immaturely written. I feel like I'm reading a wattpad book written by a 12 year old (not even a good one).

It's extremely inaccurate historically; the author does not know that women did not inherit titles and that you could not banish someone from society (especially not by saying "I banish you" to their face). The dialogue is wrong for that era and the author doesn't understand the social dynamics among the upper class of the Regency/Victorian era.

The heroine's character is inconsistent; one second she's strong, defiant and telling everyone she'll have her revenge the next she's bursting into tears or she'll be shy, blushing and sweet
The hero is also inconsistent, one second he seems to worship and admire her, the next he treats her like she's inconsequential.

All of the other characters are stupid and immature, and don't seem like real people at all. They are stupid cliché bad guys; the women ALL throw themselves at the hero, and the men ALL perve on the heroine.

The heroine's relationship with her mother-in-law is weird. One second they're fighting and the MIL is demanding she leave the house, the next she's gently advising her on what happens during the wedding night.

The heroine and the hero also have weird relationship. He says he has a mistress who he's in love with, but he doesn't act like he's in love with someone else. They both fall in love with each other when they barely spoke to each other.

Also, the author obviously didn't take the time to review and edit the book, because she did not notice that the heroine's ex-bestfriend's name changed from Alice to Bella.

Dont waste your time with this book. It's absolutely terrible. An author shouldn't write a historical novel if they don't have an understanding of what life was like during that time period.
