The duck who went to the Fairy Glen

    Violet was bored.

Violet thought she might be the most bored she had ever been in her life before this moment.

She leaned back in her chair, swinging backwards and dangling her feet as she tried to keep the chair balanced. She teetered perilously before the four legs of the chair slammed back onto the floor with a loud bang.

The teacher barely raised an eyebrow, just continued to drone on in the same monotonous voice, as if he knew no-one was listening anyway.

But Violet’s friends had all turned to look at her and smirk. They were just as bored as she was. There was just no way to make the Magical Reconstitution of Tree Sap into Glue an interesting lesson. It was making glue. From sap. To use to keep shelves up and roofs down. Violet wasn’t interested in the class at all.

She turned her head to the closed window and willed a daydream to come.
