James Borto has made the Chicago area his home most of his life. He attended NEIU to play football and pursue acting, where he was awarded a theater scholarship. While there, he took a great interest in writing and filmmaking, even transferring to Columbia College briefly to pursue those goals. He attended writing workshops at various academies, including Second City. James worked in advertising as a copywriter for Scott Ross Limited, where he worked on campaigns for Dad's Rootbeer (Monarch Beverages) and Willy Wonka Candies. At the same time, he worked feverishly on a myriad of writing projects, including short stories, poetry and a deluge of screenplays. His work in advertising has been witnessed globally.

Disrupting the crisp November night air, a three-strong caravan of black, full-size SUVs, all with tinted windows, navigated through the desert along the single-lane highway on a single solitary mission. Their uniformly spaced formation and insolent disregard for the forty-five-mile-per-hour speed limit left little doubt they were part of a government-affiliated operation.
The lead SUV contained only military personnel, as did the one bringing up the rear; highly trained soldiers, ready and willing to kill on command. The SUV in the middle hosted the prize package, who went by the name of Elliot.
On the outside, Elliot didn’t appear to have anything going for him warranting a formidable escort. His physical presence was that of a man in his mid-thirties, hair black and thick, skin almost dark enough to indicate Mediterranean ancestry. But to the high-ranking personnel watching over him, Elliot was anything but ordinary. They had seen firsthand the exploits he had carried out, feats only attainable by a celestial being of some sort… or an extraterrestrial. Despite the chaos surrounding him, Elliot was sedately aloof.
