About this ebook
To follow orders--or to do what you believe is right? The Captain of the Planetary Protection Agency's armada must make that choice.
The PPA monitors planets capable of sustaining life and steps in to restore those on the brink of extinction--by any means necessary. In the middle of one such mission, the Captain begins to question the PPA's policies. What if they are wrong? What will the Captain do?
Jay is just a Science Technician analyzing specimens from the planet below. But when a specimen of the dominant species awakens on his table, Jay's job gets much more complicated. Should he tell his superiors, or try and help him return home?

MALE VOICE-OVER: Many years ago, our planet was reaching a global crisis. (Images of glaciers melting, over-hunting and fishing, famine, drought, and smokestacks belching smoke flash across the screen.) We realized our planet could not sustain our population growth and activity. In a bold move, we took to the stars, searching for other planets we could colonize.
We found planets that suited our needs, and our growth continued. (Images of the new planets are seen.) Not long after, however, many began to realize that without drastic changes in our attitude and behavior, we would soon end up destroying these planets, just as we had almost ruined our home planet.
FEMALE VOICE-OVER: During this time, we had continued our exploration of space. Then we met another species from a planet far away. (Images of the alien species are shown.) Their level of intelligence was similar to ours in many ways and superior to ours in one important way. Long ago, they, too, had almost destroyed their planet, but they had discovered ways to stop and, in many cases, reverse the damage.
We formed an alliance, and in the years that followed we were not only able to reverse the damage we had inflicted on our new planets, but were able to return and save our home planet as well. (Images of the alliance and video of the work done to save the planets plays across the screen, ending with a time-lapse of images showing the brown atmosphere clearing, the blue of clean oceans returning, and the haze of space junk
in orbit being cleared away.)
MALE VOICE RETURNS: Through this alliance, the Powers That Be realized the importance of preserving the life-sustaining planets in our galaxy and across the universe. Thus the Planetary Protection Agency was formed. (The emblem of the PPA shows on the screen.) Members of both species have joined together to travel the galaxy monitoring, restoring, and maintaining the habitable planets of the universe. (Video of scientists and medical professionals at work, doing the various jobs and activities of the PPA are played.)
PPA SCIENTIST VOICE-OVER: Working for the PPA is very interesting and rewarding work. To travel through space, saving and restoring planets to a healthy, balanced state—it’s
