About this ebook
A tale of hot pursuit on the high seas and passion on the battlefield.
Mademoiselle Lenormand, the infamous Parisian fortune-teller, has been given the impossible task: find the golem she'd conjured, and bring it back to the shadowy society of witches where it belongs. She must hold her tarot cards close to her chest to survive as the drums of war start to sound between England and her homeland.
Napoleon Bonaparte curses the day he'd ever met that drat fortune-teller who stole his emerald. She had the gall to blame it all on a golem, but that slippery swindler knew full well the emerald holds the only key to a peaceful world. "Find that woman and her accomplice," he tells his minister of police. "I'll hang them both by their fingernails until they give me what I want."
Elise Dubois, unwitting golem and 21st century time-traveler, has one thing in mind: getting out of the 1800's and back to Arizona. She clutches the emerald like it's her only ticket, but so far, it's only dragged her into a marriage she doesn't want. Somehow becoming a nurse with the British Army, Elise can only pray she'll wake up from her nightmare before the war begins...
The Brazen Woman is the second book in the Emerald Scarab Adventures.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was a very interesting book. Not something I would have read naturally but there was a lot of suspends that made it a page turner. I would love to know if there's a second book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book was advertised as a time travel/historical fiction novel that could read as a stand alone even though it was the second in a series. I found this to be untrue. The book mentions a time traveling character but no actual time travel occurs. I felt lost in the characters as they were not described clearly to a new reader. This was clearly a middle book of a series. I did not find this an easy read as a stand alone. I was left with too many questions as to how the characters related to each other. And the ending clearly indicates a need to read the next book to understand the story. I felt the same as I would watching the second movie of a trilogy. This was filler material. The story telling however was okay. The book did not lag and it was easy to read and understand. Just could not get invested in characters I was made to feel I should already know,
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An amazing story, after I received the book I started reading and I could not put the book down. I love the book. The author really painted an amazing journey
