They achieved what the United States has avoided doing since its foundation: they rewrote the constitution. This new document faces ratification in a few days. And it could become the first constitution in the world to enshrine abortion rights as one of its founding principles. In this episode, Kate and Jamia talk to some of the folks behind this historic movement. They learn just what goes into rewriting a country’s legal guide: how to say goodbye to an old model of lawmaking, how to learn from the mistakes of constitutions past, and how to write a new founding document as diverse as the country it’s meant to serve.
