Chapter One
~Sebastian~
The war had been raging on for decades now, with no end in sight. Standing here in the middle of this crimson coated battlefield, Sebastian looked at all the carnage and bodies lying everywhere. Not believing what it had come down to, he would never forget the night it all started for as long as blood coursed through his undead body. That was the night that would change their lives forever. Looking back on that night, Drayvon and him had been out all night on the hunt. They had been doing this for centuries now, luring a couple of unsuspecting ladies in to Show them a good time
, then leaving, drained and sated after a long night of drinking and sex. That night he was with an insatiable young red head. Curves in all the right places, exquisite blue eyes, pouty red lips. She was sexy as hell, with a body that most women would kill for.
The smell of her blood alone made him hard and the beast in him was ravished with hunger. Looking toward Drayvon he could see that he was leaving with the black-haired little minx he had picked up for the night. Bringing his attention back down to the red head lying naked under him, and not caring to remember her name. He didn’t need to, after tonight he would never see her again. By sunrise she wouldn't remember a thing and he would be long gone. Slowly he began kissing down the side of her neck, causing her to shiver with pleasure, pulse quickening in her jugular. Sucking on the spot where it pulsated the hardest. He chuckled softly when she began to moan and writhe beneath him, her breast rising and falling with anticipation of what he would do to her.
Reaching up, he wrapped his hand deep into her red hair. He could feel his pupils dilating, and he knew his eyes had gone from their natural blue to crimson red by now. Letting his beast come forward, he groaned when he felt the familiar pressure in his gums. The tingling sensation in his mouth let him know his fangs had extended. He reared his head back, then flashed forward, sinking his teeth into the soft flesh of her throat. Her blood began to flow, hot and intoxicatedly spicy, into his mouth and down his throat. She began to moan a thrash underneath him. Letting him know that, even though he was taking her life force from her, she was enjoying the feeling. With her arms wrapped around, he cradled her against his chest, and began to draw more of her life force out and into him. With each draw he took she began to weaken. When her arms finally dropped to her sides he pulled back. Licking the wound on her neck to a close.
Dropping her limp body to the bed and licking the excess blood from his lips. He stared down at her limp body sated, with both needs for the night. He knew she was not dead. She was just sleeping, and would wake none the wiser, with the thoughts of having too much to drink; remembering nothing from the night before.
Sliding from the bed, he stood next to her, pulling the sheet up her naked form, letting his hand slide up her delectable hips, over her curves and getting to her perk breast; grazing his hand over her rosy nipple before letting the sheet drop. The blissfulness of the night was ripped away with the door splintering out of its frame. Sebastian barely had time to react before the intruder was upon him, fist flying claws tearing at his flesh. Fighting with waning strength from the sudden onslaught of blows. Returning blow after blow, with movements so fast it was more of a blur. A frenzy of two bodies flying around the room. He was tossed from his opponent and was sent crashing into the adjacent wall. The wall caved with the weight of his body. His vision blurred, and all went black.
Groaning he came to there was a searing pain all over his body. Sebastian’s head was killing him. His body ached all over, he tried to remember what had happened. But it was all a blur for a few moments. Memories of the night before started to flash into his mind’s eye. Like a vivid dream, that was made a reality. The pain in his head intensified when he opened his eyes, making him snap them closed again, before blinking a few times. His vision was blurred for a few seconds. When It finally cleared, the room, he was in was dark and damp.
Darkness surrounded him, the ache in his body was tangible. The muscles in his arms where screaming for release. He tried to bring his arms down from their position, but they came to a jerking halt. Pain screamed through his wrist, making him flinch and grind his teeth together. The rattle of the chains binding him, let him know just the position he was in. Suspended in the air from the ceiling of the large cell he was in. The pain in his wrist, and pungent stench of flesh burning told him the chains where silver.
The nauseating smell of vervain hitting his nose also let him know, they were coated in that shit. Struggling to get free would only weaken him more. With one final tug he relented to the confines of the chains, realization dawning on him that he was truly stuck. Being shackled to the wall in chains that were strong enough to restrain a vampire of his lineage is not good. He could feel the flesh on his wrist bubbling and searing with the silver. Blood was running from the cuts and pouring down his arms. He had enough vervain in his system at this point, that he knew they would not heal properly.
These damn things where coated in this shit. Vervain to vampires is deadly if too much gets into our system. Not wanting further injury, he stopped all movement. Swiveling his head side to side letting his eyes adjust to his night vision. He scanned the room, to see if there was any indication to where the hell he was at. With no indication of windows, he had to be underground somewhere. The room was so dark that any normal mortal wouldn't be able to see even their hand in front of their face. With being a vampire, his night vision was superior, letting him see into the room as if the lights where on. The room he was in was empty, with only a single door that looked heavy and made of steel. The cobblestone walls where slick with moisture, that gave off a pungent odor that burned his sensitive nose.
Closing his eyes and drawing into himself, he pulled on his inner light of his powers. He gathered all his strength inward and pushed out. Pushing his hearing, and sense of smell outward. Past the walls of his cell, that kept him from the outside world. Listening hard at the sounds around him. His hearing picked of the sounds of rats scurrying in the distance, and the sound of water dripping in a room further down. There was a stench in the room of years of rancid blood and decaying flesh. That over the years had seeped into stone of the walls and floors. Further out the sound of muffled voices carried to his sensitive ears.
Footsteps approaching through corridors, growing louder with muffled voices became clearer as they grew nearer. The voices stopped outside the door. The jiggling of keys could be heard, and a key being inserted into the lock of the door. The scrapping of metal, and the grind of an old rusty lock sliding open, before the door was forced inward.
The rusty hinges groaned and squeaked, metal scrapped against the stone floor. The sound splintered the silence, affectively making him grind his teeth even harder against one another. There was the shuffling of fabric, and footsteps entering the room. Drayvon entered the room with languid strides, of a man with purpose, he moved to the center of the room. Reaching the center of the room he pulled the cord of the light dangling in the middle. Flooding room with a bright light, blinding Sabastian with the intrusive harsh light. Making him shut his eyes and blink through the bleakness.
Blinking a few more time the blur retreated letting his vision refocus. Sabastian looked to the center of the room. What he saw was harder to believe than it should had been, at that moment. Drayvon
He hissed through clinched teeth. Sebastian quickly looked behind Drayvon. Standing in the open door he could see the black-haired woman from the night everything went to hell. She was wearing and long black, form fitting dress. Black high heels, and her hair was down in long waves over her shoulder. Her eyes where glowing a bright green, it was an obvious sign, that this woman was not human.
Exhaling the breath, he hadn’t realized he, had been holding, and bringing his attention back to Drayvon. The man looked like hell. Drayvon’ s once long red hair was disheveled and matted with blood and grim. Hanging limp against his broad shoulder. Standing at six foot eight inches he was a beast of a man, blood stained and ripped white t-shirt hung tattered and torn on his torso. The slacks he was wearing was stained with blood and caked with dirt and grime. The look on Drayvon’s face was grim, his eyes had turned black with a sinister glint in them.
Sebastian grew more confused, with each second his friend stayed silent. Drayvon, what is going on here?
Sebastian yelled at him. Drayvon’s only response was a grunt, and then in a blur of movement he bashed Sebastian in the skull. Pain erupted in the side of his head, blood trickle from a deep gouge in his head down his cheek. Sebastian’s chest rumble releasing a growl, rage bubbling up from inside of him. Turning is head back to look at Drayvon and spitting in his face.
Drayvon lunged at Sebastian pummeling him with his fist. Pain erupted through Sebastian s side, making air rush from his lugs. The pain of his ribs shattering was almost too much to keep conscious. Another blow to the same spot on the ribcage intensified the pain further. Black spots swam around his vision the pain was so bad. Drayvon wrapped his blood-soaked hands around Sebastian’s throat. Extended his claws and sinking them into the raw flesh of Sebastian’s skin. Blood poured from the wounds in his neck. Soaking the front of his shirt. Drayvon sunk his claws deeper and pulled him in close to his face and spoke in grave voice This is only the beginning of what you are going to receive.
He shouted with spittle flying out of his mouth with each word. Digging his claws in deeper, he ripped flesh from bone down his chest.
Drayvon sent blow after blow into Sebastian’s mid-section, before wiping the blood from his hands onto his pants. Speaking with more venom is his voice than Sebastian thought possible. You made the monster that I am today, letting me do all the horrible things that I did........ It's unforgivable Sebastian, and I will make you suffer as I have. You will suffer for a long time, just as I have suffered.
He screamed out, his eye’s red and murderous.
Drayvon pulled a silver dagger from his coat pocket, plunging it into Sebastian’s left arm. Twisting it around making the wound bigger, tearing the flesh and scrapping bone. Sebastian grit his teeth to keep from screaming. Drayvon jerked the blade out and plunged it into his right shoulder. The silver dagger was coated in more vervain. Making the pungent smell of burned flesh fill the air. As it ripped through more muscle and tissue. Adding to the vervain already in his system, slowing his healing to a crawl. Fresh blood will be the only thing to stint the effects of the poison in his system.
Drayvon twisted the dagger again cutting more ligaments and muscle, blood was pouring from both wounds by now. Sebastian strength was leaving faster now, making it harder to stay conscious. Drayvon left the blade in dropping his hand back to his side. Stepped back from his victim, Drayvon kicked Sabastian’s knee forcing it backwards. Sebastian released an ear splintering scream, not being able to hold it back any longer. The dark spots in his vision grew to the outer edges of his vision, before his head lolled to the side and darkness overtook his mind.
Cold water hitting his broken and weakened body jolted Sebastian from the dark confines of his mind. Spluttering, and coughing his head rolled to the side. Sebastian squinted his eyes against the harsh light of the room. The pain of his body brought him back to the harsh reality, that he was in. Drayvon stood in the center of the room. With an empty bucket in his hand. Nice that you could join us again
he drawled out, while setting the bucket down. Shuffling to the far corner of the room, where a cart sat. The cart was rusted and old, with some very nasty looking tools set out on it. Dread crept into the pit of Sebastian’s stomach. The damage that had already been done to his body, he didn’t know how much he could take. Sebastian was in so much pain; he could barely breath.
Drayvon clicked his tongue on the back of his teeth, while running his hand over the items on the table. Picking up another silver instrument he turned back to Sebastian chuckling madly, By the time I am done with you Sebastian, you will me praying for the Gods to take you to the afterlife.
The instrument in his hand gleamed in the light. It had three blades, that protruded from a slender black handle. Drayvon flipped the blade over and over in his hands, taunting Sebastian, as he sauntered over to him. Raising it to Sebastian’s face Drayvon ran the blades from temple to chin, slicing flesh open with three long gouges.
Sebastian's beast writhed within him, making his voice low and hoarse as he spoke. Why are you doing this, Drayvon? We have been friends since birth. You’re like a brother to me, I have never harmed you in anyway......
Drayvon drove the knife into Sebastian’s abdomen cutting his words of. Sebastian held back the scream, that threatened to come out. Not wanting to give the madman the satisfaction of his scream.
TSK, TSK, don’t you dare play dumb with me boy. You know damn well what you did. You made me the monster that I am.
Drayvon
