Death Squad: Part Four - Judgement Day
()
About this ebook
As the conclusion of “Death Squad” nears, the lines between good and evil are more blurred than ever. Has Jim Taylor pushed his luck too far this time? Perhaps. Some will live and some will die as one man alone decides it’s Judgement Day.
He was getting closer. FBI agent Lucy Johnson could feel it. She should feel it. After all, she’d been the one who’d been acting as bait for the killer ever since she arrived at Jim Taylor’s to find out if the rumor was true. Had the town sheriff enlisted Jim and Hook, his partner, to form a “death squad” who killed criminals before a jury of their peers ever got the chance to decide if they were guilty or innocent?
All Lucy knew was that the bodies kept piling up and now, someone else wanted to add to the death count. And this time, the killer was on the wrong side of the law. Lucy Johnson knew it wouldn’t be long before she looked into the eyes of the killer. She was very good at her job and ever since teaming up with Jim and Buck, a horse who was more human than most men she knew, she’d been succeeding at what she set out to do: lure the killer ever closer.
What frightened her the most was that she was less afraid of the killer than she was of the fact that she enjoyed making love with Jim even more because she knew he was out there watching.
It had seemed like a game at first but now, with Sheriff Zeke Johansen gravely injured and lying next to her in a makeshift tent she’d managed to pitch in a spot so remote – near a mountain range in the heart of the Wyoming wilderness – she knew she’d fail if asked to give someone her location, what was once a game of cat-and-mouse to her was suddenly all too real.
Only God knew where Jim and Buck were or if they were still alive. They’d gone for help what seemed like days ago yet outside the tent’s thin walls, the storm raged on.
As Lucy struggled to keep Zeke alive and prayed that help would arrive before the killer came back to finish the job he’d started, Lucy had never felt so alone.

Death Squad
This continuation of Death Squad represents part four of the fifth novel written by Lee Atterbury in a series devoted to the tales of Jim Taylor and his horse, Buck.
Part One
of Death Squad found Jim entirely fed up. He’s tired of the notoriety which accompanies all the ridiculous rumors about the death squad which supposedly consists of him, his partner, Hook, and Sheriff Thomasen. It’s not their fault violent felons end up threatening their own lives. Jim only kills to avoid being killed. Period. But the media loves this kind of thing and the result is an Internet sensation that goes viral and sends more than one annoying reporter out to Flint County, Wyoming to see what they can learn from Jim Taylor. And now, a new visitor comes calling who’s familiar to Jim and about as far from a reporter as one can get. Enter FBI Agency Lucy Johnson, who’s eager to accompany Jim on his next journey but who has a secret agenda all her own that may end up putting Jim in even more danger. Suddenly, life back in Wisconsin in fighting a trial in front of a jury is beginning to seem like relaxation compared to the reality of retirement in Wyoming.
In Part Two: Seduction
, tensions are rising ever higher as Jim Taylor, who first came to Wyoming to retire after a long and challenging career as a lawyer back in Wisconsin, finds another bad guy looking in his direction. Unfortunately, it’s far from the first time. All Jim Taylor was looking for when he arrived in Wyoming a couple years back was solitude and the companionship of Buck, the horse who accompanies him on every journey and has his back in more ways than one. Jim couldn’t wait to escape into the secluded wilderness around the majestic mountains of Wyoming, smoke a joint and laze his remaining days away. Had some very bad people not had the same location in mind and murder on their minds, things might have turned out just the way he planned. But over and over again, evil beats Jim to the summit and he’s forced to take a life to save his own and others. When the local sheriff appoints him to the position of deputy all that does is put Jim directly in the spotlight and when the media learns about the number of people who ended up too dead to ever
