About this ebook

The bible is full of mysterious ideas and metaphysical concepts that are complex enough to turn our ways upside down . Though , some schools of thoughts put their heads on the block to defend the accuracy of the holy book ; but influenced , at the same time by the spiritual presence of God and the traditional effigy of idolatry , that accuracy is flooded by a stream of doctrines , dogma , norms and traditions .
So the author of this book has developed an elaborate rationalization which hold that the code of ethics embodied in the bible produced the humorous theories of nations and peoples that are designed to retard mens understanding of the scriptures .
In keeping with the views of religious leaders , and through investigative observations of the scanty knowledge of many teachers of the scriptures , the author has found evidence of a combination of logic and legend .

Jean Dieuvil

The 69 years old Jean Gesner Dieuvil is a devoted student of the scriptures . Born in the CarIbbean Island of Haiti , Jean dove into the study of the bible at the tender age of 12 . After serving the church during his youth as a choir boy , he was thrown out for asking the holy priest why did he impute a shape and figure to the Lord God .? Living by the clear stream of truth investigation and the will to know well the God whom he worship , a grown up Jean sat at the feet Episcopal priests to study their faith and to look to the inner soul within himself and perform all actions of a devoted Christian . Considering his education, The Episcopal priests employed Jean as a High Scholl teacher. It was then that he gave up that occupation to immigrate to USA where he studied with the Seventh Day Adventists church that later accepted his membership request and made him serve first as an assistant treasurer then head treasurer . By the gift of inner stillness, Jean took control of his life and became more focused , more selective , and more aware of the falsehood of many messages passed down to the church congregation . He gave his attention to grow in the wisdom of the fear of God. What would a wise man or wise woman do ?

After the tenth and final plague, the death of the firstborn, struck the Egyptians, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on the throne of Egypt to the firstborn of his ministers, all his servants, and all the Egyptians. The king of Egypt, fearing for his own life, rose in the middle of the night and called for Moses and Aaron, his brother; then said to them: "I hate you! Now, rise, and go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. Go and serve the Lord, your God, as you have requested. Also take everything you own in Egypt, and bless me and my people before you leave us.

Being delivered and freed from bondage, for the first time in 430 years, the children of Israel, about six hundred thousand of them, took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their clothes on their shoulders, journeyed from Rameses to Succoth as a free people; and immediately, a new nation was born.

The children of Israel were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared any provisions for their departure. So, on the road, they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they have brought out of Egypt, because it was not leavened. On the previous night, they have sacrificed an unblemished lamb of first year. They ate the roasted flesh with unleavened bread and bitter herb, behind closed door on which the blood of the sacrificed lamb has been put.

On the very same day, the all armies of the Lord God went out from the land of Egypt. It was the night of solemn observance to the Lord. All the congregation of the children of Israel shall keep the Passover. They shall celebrate it at the same time every year.

The Lord God also commanded saying that: "if strangers dwell among the children of Israel, be in their land or elsewhere, and want, like them, to keep the Passover to the Lord, let all their male children be circumcised, And then let them come near and keep it. They shall be circumcised like you, for no uncircumcised person shall eat the Passover. One law shall be for everybody.

After the Exodus from Egypt, of course, there was a complete change in the attitude of the children of Israel. The covenant that the Lord God had made with Abraham to give the land of Canaan to him and to his descendants after him was no longer words and promises, but actual and accomplished facts. Then the promise to take the children of Israel to that land and give it to them as inheritance took on a new life and meaning.

The children of Israel were then a free people who could decide their own destiny and the pursuit of happiness. But, they were not yet ready to head to the promised land due to the influence that the abomination and the wickedness of Egypt had in their lives. They must first, and by all means, receive the Law, the commandments of God, His judgment and His statutes before settle to dwell in the promise land.

The land of Canaan which the Lord had promised to give to the children of Israel is a good land that flows with milk and honey. This land is rich with wheat and barley, and grapevine and fig, and pomegranate and dates, a land with oil-olive and honey, a land in which you eat bread in abundance, there is no lack of anything. You can always eat and be satisfied. There are seven great things that the children of Israel will never lack of in the promised land; but the people who now dwell in the land are desperately wicked. I, the Lord your God will drive them away from before you, said God.

There, in the wilderness of Sinai, the children of Israel were free people. With their own eyes, they have seen marvelous happenings that could have been nothing short than the work of a mighty God, the Lord, God of their fathers: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The Lord spoke to Moses, His servant, saying: speak to the children of Israel and say to them :‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I, the Lord, bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people, for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

So Moses came and called the elders of the people and the people themselves and laid before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him to tell the people. And all the people answered together and said All that the Lord has spoken we will do

The response of the people of Israel appeared to be a simple statement, yet it was one of the most fateful pledges in all history; for never before in the history of mankind had a whole nation in solemn assembly made such a covenant with the creator God, binding themselves and their descendants to an everlasting contract.

So Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord. And the Lord said to Moses, Behold, I will come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and believe My words. Then the Lord said to Moses Go to the children of Israel and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Let them wash their clothes. Let them be ready for three days. On the third, I will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of the people. Now be sure, said the Lord, that you set bounds for the people all around. I say unto you: Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch its base. For whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death and shall not live.

So Moses went down from the mountain to the children of Israel and sanctified them and they were ready to come before their God in full purity. But there was something extraordinary about the morning of the third day. The Israelites saw a thick cloud on the mountain, and heard loud and frightening sounds of trumpet. As Moses approaching the foot of the mountain to meet with God, so the children of Israel stood there trembling.

Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord God descended upon it in fire. The smoke of the mountain ascended like the smoke of a furnace. Then the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain and Moses went up.

And the Lord said to Moses: "Go down and warn the children of Israel, lest they break through to look upon the Lord, and many of them perish; let only the priests who come near the Lord consecrate themselves, lest the Lord break out against them.

So it was, when the children of Israel heard the voice of the Lord from the midst of the darkness, while Mount Sinai was still burning in fire, they came near to Moses with the head of the tribes and the elders. They begged him saying: "The Lord our God has surely shown us His glory and His greatness. We have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. And we have seen this day that the Lord God speaks with man, yet he still lives. Now therefore, why shall we die? For this great fire we are seeing on the mountain shall consume; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God anymore, then we shall die. Now please go near and hear all that the Lord our God may say and tell us all that the Lord our God says to you and we will hear and do it.

Understandably, mankind feels more related to any god which they make with their own hands than the God whose hand has made them. As a matter of fact, many of the ideas of one God are not generally supported by the majority.

So the children of Israel stood afar off; but Moses drew near the thick darkness where the Lord God was and said to Him:’The children of Israel cannot come up to Mount Sinai, because You warned them ‘saying: Set bounds around the mountain and consecrate it.

The Lord answered Moses saying to him: Away! Get down and then come up you and Aaron. But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to Me, lest I break out against them. So Moses went down to speak to the children of Israel.

While down with the people, the Lord spoke all these words saying:

"I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house bondage.

You shall have no other gods before Me.

You shall not make for yourselves a caved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work, you nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long upon the Land which the Lord your God is giving you

    You shall not murder.

    You shall not commit adultery.

    You shall not steal.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s

In the 12th verse of the 20th chapter of Exodus, The Lord, maker of heavens and earth who stretched the earth over the water, made very clear that He is giving to the children of Israel a land, a paradise, because it is a land that flows with milk and honey, rich in wheat, barley, grapevine, pomegranate, fig, dates, vine, and oil olive. He is not at all taking them to heavens in this life or after this life, in this generation or the next; to a good land, a paradise, He will take them to live from generation to generation.

After giving the first 10 commandments, the Lord gave the Law of the altar, the law concerning servants, concerning violence, animal control laws, property law, ceremonial law, judiciary law, Sabbaths law, and law concerning the three feasts when the people must come before Him. Yet, at the foot of the mountain, the children of Israel were still trembling with the fear of the awesome voice of the Lord.

So Moses said to the children of Israel: Fear not, for the Lord has come to test you, so that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin. In the cloud Moses went up to the mountain top. Then the Lord said again to Moses: speak to the children Israel and say to them: You have seen that I have spoken with you from heaven. You shall not make anything to be with Me—gods of silver or gods of gold, gods of wood or metal, you shall not make for yourselves.

So, Moses went up to receive from the Lord the tablets of the Law. On top of the mountain he waited for the Lord to come down to write the tablets of His Law. But the Lord did not come down soon enough; after 40 days and 40 nights, the Lord finally came down and began to write the law.

Now at the foot of the mountain, the children of Israel were committing the most calamitous sins in the history of that nation. It came to pass that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain. So the children of Israel gathered together to Aaron, and said to him. Come, make us gods that shall go before us. We did not know what happened to Moses, He must be dead by now.

And Aaron said to them Break the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons and your daughters and bring them to me. The children of Israel did what Aaron has told them to do. They broke off all earrings and brought them to him. With the earrings he received from their hands, he fashioned a golden calf for them. They were so happy, they said O Israel this is your god. It is it that brought you out of the land of Egypt". They immediately made a proclamation that tomorrow they will make a feast to their new fashioned god.

However, on the mountain when the Lord finished writing the commandments on the tablets, He handed them over to Moses and said to him Go get down. For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it, and sacrifice to it, and said.: This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt. I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff necked people. Now therefore leave Me alone, that My anger may burn hot against them and I may consume them".

Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God and said ‘Lord, why does Your anger burn hot against Your people whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? Why should the Egyptians speak and say: "He brought them out to burn them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth. Do not harm Your people. Remember Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The intercession of Moses before the Lord his God on behalf of the children of Israel was mercifully accepted; because, the Lord their God preferred mercy above justice. A longtime ago, the Lord, Himself, commanded their forefather, Abraham, to make Atonement before Him on behalf of his descendants that He would forgive their sins and give them the land of Canaan even if they sin against Him. And without any doubt, the Lord God of Israel, being always faithful to all His promises, had therefore remembered all the promises that He had made to Abraham, this faithful and honest man whom He called His friend. Now let us read that history in the following paragraph.

The Lord appeared to Abraham in the land of Canaan and said to him fear not, Abraham you shall inherit this land you, and your descendants after you. Then Abraham asked the Lord: By what, O Lord, shall I know that I inherit it"?

Quite frankly, Abraham did not ask the Lord this straight-forward question because he had some doubt that the Lord his new God would have kept His promise, perhaps because he did not have enough faith in the Lord. The question came to his mind simply because he did not know at that very moment that the love of the Lord was everlasting. And he just didn’t know that the Lord’s mercy to forgive sins was infinite.

Instead, the patriarch asked that question because he feared that his descendants after him will possibly sin against the Lord. So he continued his interceding plea and said: "O Lord, Creator and Master of the universe, perhaps, heaven forbid, my descendants will sin before You, and You will treat them as the generation of the flood and as the generation of the Tower of Babel.

The Lord, knowing that sins are capable of slaying and murdering the soul of man, He answered Abraham and said to him: No Abraham, I will not treat them like generation of the flood; because, I am giving you the opportunity to make atonement right now and then for them. Then the Lord commanded Abraham, saying: Take three calves, three goats, three rams, and a dove, and a young pigeon for an offering on their behalf".

So on that day, on the Mountain of Sinai, as well, the Lord God remembered the atonement of Abraham, so He proceeded to give the YOM KIPUR to the children of Israel to cleanse themselves from the sins of the golden calf. From generation to generation they have to make atonement every year for the sins of idolatry.

Now, this is the history of the generation of the Tower of Babel. Nimrod, the son of Cush, the son of Canaan, the son of Ham, had built the Tower of Babel with the ambitious desire to establish a throne that was to be equal to or greater in glory than the throne of God. He established kingdoms in Erech, in Accad, in Calneh, in Nineveh, in Rehoboth, in Ir, in Calah, and in Resen, but the throne of those kingdoms was Babylon. The Tower of Babel was built to reach the heaven above. After the Tower of Babel was built, Nimrod, the self-proclaimed king of the world, the Star of the morning, looked proudly over his accomplishment and was very satisfied. Then he began to speak arrogantly and said: "Behold, I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God. I will sit also on the mount of the congregation, on the farthest sides of the North. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High, the Lord God.

When the Lord God saw what Nimrod had done and heard the blasphemy that came out of the sinner’s mouth, the Mighty God mustered His army for battle. The soldiers of the Lord came from a far country, from the end of the heaven. The Lord and His weapons of indignation came down to destroy the whole tower and crush the spiritual plans of that proud blasphemer.

The Lord, Himself, attacked the tower, Nimrod and everyone inside and outside were cast down to the pit of corruption. There was no survivor. Woe is the man who trusts in the son of man, for there is no help in him. When he dies, his spirit departs from him and he returns to his earth; in that very day his plans perish. However, happy is the man who has the God of Jacob for his help. Whose hope is in the Lord, his God, who made the heaven and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them. Who keep truth forever. Who gives justice to the oppressed, feeds the hungry, frees the prisoners, gives sight to the blind, makes straight the bowed, loves the righteous, protects the strangers, and relieves the widow and the orphan; but turns upside down the way of the wicked. Psalm146

After receiving the tablets of the law of God, still standing on top of the Holy Mountain in the presence of the Lord, God Almighty, Moses was full of uncertainty, because he knew that the wage of sins will always be death and the children of Israel were caught red-handed and were therefore guilty as charged. The Lord God sent him down to gather with the children of Israel; but before he left the presence of the Lord to join his people, he wanted to secure a promise from the Lord that He was relenting from His wrath against the children of Israel and changing His decision to destroy them for their wickedness. So he therefore spoke to his God and said to Him: O Lord, if You are truly relenting from Your wrath, please show me a sign, by Your glory Immediately, Moses looked up and saw a four corner-garment called Tallit in front him. From that day, he understood that was the sign that men in general must wear the tallit to remember the commandments and obey them. The children of Israel must always look upon the tallit. And now to give His servant, Moses, a blessed assurance, the Lord spoke mercifully to him saying: My presence will go with you and I will give you rest; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name. I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious. I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion; but you cannot see My face. First the Lord covered Moses’ face with His hands as He passed by him, then He uncovered him to allow him to see His back wrapped in the four-corner garment called tallit.

After seeing the Tallit, Moses came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the Law written by God Himself. His joy to obtain pardon for his people could not be adequately described by words. Half way down, he met with Joshua. And Joshua said to Moses There is a noise of war in the camp But Moses said It is not the noise of war or the shout of victory, nor the noise of the cry of defeat; but the sound of singing, I hear

So it was, as soon as Moses came near the camp, that he saw the golden calf and the celebration of the idol’s worshippers. Suddenly, his anger became hot, and he cast the tablets of the Law out of his hands on the golden calf which burned with fire. So Moses broke the tablets to destroy the calf; and he asked Aaron, his brother, What did these peoples do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them?

So Aaron answered Moses saying: "Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. For you know this, they are up to no good. They said to me ‘Come, make us gods that shall go before us, for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt has abandoned us.

Everyone was guilty, the best way to be found innocent is to be innocent. For a person who is found innocent, a decree of life is sealed; for one who is found guilty, a decree of death is also sealed. Until the guilty person truly repent he is considered guilty before the Lord, his God.

Before leaving the mountain, Moses has seen the glory of the Lord when he saw the Lord wrapped Himself in the garment called tallit. He knew that the fire of the Lord’s anger that was kindled when He saw the children of Israel make a god of gold for themselves to worship was extinguished; for God’s mercy endures forever.

Moses himself, however, did not forgive the children of Israel. According to the story in chapter 32:31 of the book of Exodus, Moses stood at the entrance of the camp of the children of Israel and called out saying: Whoever is on the side of the Lord God come to me. And the sons of Levi gathered themselves together to him. In this particular case, it was the tribe of Levi against all the eleven tribes of the children of Israel. Then Moses spoke the Word of the Lord to them, saying: Thus says the Lord God of Israel (not God of the tribe of Levi) Let every man put his sword on his side, and go in and out from house to house throughout the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his companion, and every man his neighbor. The tribe of Levi went on a rampage and killed three thousand men of the children of Israel on that day. Those men were killed because they were determined to fight for the golden calf.

All these matters are beyond the scope of the book of Exodus; but it is our hope that when people read the book of Exodus, they pay attention to the events. For simple common sense would seem to indicate that the Lord could never allow something like that to take place. As we say, there is something beyond the power of our comprehension. We have to deal only with the basic matters of God’s love and mercy. We do know that the world inherits the iniquity of Eden (the consumption of the forbidden fruit, for that the entire population of the world was nearly destroyed. In facts, iniquity brings death and destruction; therefore, it was not impossible for Moses to arm the righteous against the wicked to cleanse the population until the Lord Himself establish a permanent way to remove sins, blot out iniquity, and cleanse the children of Israel. In facts God did establish a way. He gave them the feast of the Trumpets called the day of repentance. They were to confess their sins, to reflect and meditate on them for ten days until the day of Atonement in which two he-goats were presented before the altar of the Lord; one goat will cleanse the sins by its blood, the other will be loaded with the iniquity and the sins of the world, to remove them as far as the East is from the West by its destruction.

Yes the blood of the sacrificial goat mixed with the blood of the bull that is offered for the cleansing of the priest, because, from the day of Aaron who was chosen to be the priest of the most High God, all priests inherit the iniquity of the golden calf, known as the iniquity of Egypt. The high priest is required to offer a bull for the cleansing of his own iniquities.

The iniquity of Egypt (the golden calf) was upon the children of Israel and upon all children born unto them throughout generation that is why the feast of the Trumpets was established for repentance and the day of Atonement was established for cleansing and removal of sins and iniquities.

Before the children of Israel settled in the land of Canaan, they brought upon themserlves many iniquities causing many losses of lives. In the Land of Moab, they brought upon themselves the iniquity of the Moabites by worshiping Baal. As a result, the generation who left the land of Egypt died in the wilderness. In the land of Canaan, they also embraced the iniquity of the Canaanites by offering their children in sacrifice to the fiery hand of Molock. Fortunately, every year the Lord cleanses them, He removes and blots away their iniquities and their children’s iniquities.

Our thoughts are not the thoughts of the Lord, our God. It appears that the killing mentioned above in the camp of Israel took place so that some people might express their willingness to resist sins. By their reaction, they showed also that they have opposed the infidelity of their brothers, their neighbors, and their sons. They gave to Moses the tools that he needed to return to the Lord to plead with Him to forgive the people for making a god of gold. Over and over again.

But, something seemed to go wrong in the process, the children of Israel had missed the opportunity to receive the law of the Lord and to be taught in it; because the first two tablets that represented the basic term of the agreement to bind them to the covenant of the Lord were broken. So when Moses returned, the Lord God said to him: "Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke. Get yourself ready, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai and present yourself to Me there on the top of the mountain. You have to come alone and bring no one with you and let no one be there.

So Moses cut the two tablets. He rose up early in the morning and went up to Mount Sinai with the tablets as the Lord commanded him. The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with Moses and proclaimed His holy name. Then the Lord said to his servant, Moses "Write these words for yourself also, for according to the tenor of these words, I have made a covenant with you and with the children of Israel.

It came to pass, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai. He called to Aaron and all the rulers of the children of Israel to come near him. He talked with them to explain the meaning and the significance of the Covenant. He said to them: You are standing here before the Lord, your tribal heads, your elders, and your officers, and all the children of Israel and the strangers in the midst of your camp to enter into a covenant with the Lord your God so that the Lord may raise you up to Him this day as a people and be a God unto you.

Moses described all the blessings and the curses his people stood to receive if they obey or break the covenant which they were making with the Lord. He took the book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people. The people of Israel responded affirmatively And said to Moses." All that the Lord has spoken we will do and obey. They answered to collectively make pledges to keep the commandments, the Testimonies, the Statutes, and the judgments of the Lord.

The laws of the covenant, in their totality, are intended to create a society among the children of Israel which would be worthy of imitation by all other nations. They contained 613 commandments, 248 of which provided the children of Israel with plenty of opportunities to perform only good deeds and do everything that is pleasing in the sight of the Lord their God. The Law also gave them 365 prohibitions that were designed to prevent disobedience of its codes and violations of the rights of others.

This law was not just a collection of commandments to the children of Israel; but instead the word of their God given in love and favor for all eternity. As a result, the Lord God gave them the commandment of the commandments. It was the greatest of all the commandments; because, It gave them the ultimate reason to obey and obtain the blessings in store for them by doing righteously, and the freedom to bring also upon themselves the curses by committing wickedness.

This is the greatest commandment, said Moses, and the followings are the statutes and judgments which the Lord your God has commanded me to teach you, that you must observe in the land which you are crossing over to possess, a land that flows with milk and honey, and a land that produces wheat and barley, grapevine and fig, pomegranate and dates, oil-olive and wine."

Hear, O Israel! the Lord your God is one (He is unique and there is no other god like Him, none before Him, none with Him, and there will be none after. Blessed be the name of His glorious majesty forever and ever). And you are to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your substance. And these words that I am commanding you today shall be upon your heart; You are to teach them over and over to your children. You have
