The stories told in this book may set many readers thinking. For instance, the Massacuraman, the Water Baby, and the Moon Gaser all have some relevance to creatures here in the United Statesnamely Big Foot, mermaids, and the Moon Gaser, as related to old cotton pickers of the South. The others have relevance to countries like Venezuela, where I saw shrunken men. It is therefore up to the reader to determine whether these stories are fact or fiction.

Kempton McAlmont

Tony Kissoon was born in 1952, as the younger of twins; he has two brothers and three sisters. His mother’s name is Lyla Kissoon; his father, Alston, died in an Air India crash in1966. Tony majored in economics at McGill University and earned a master’s degree in economic history from London University. He has received many rewards from ABI and IBC and has written many political and economic papers for Guyana.

About the Author

T ony Kissoon was born on June 18, 1952. He is the second twin of two sons of Mr. Alston and Mrs. Lyla Kissson, the first twin being named Alston Kissoon, According to their mother, their names were chosen after seeing a movie starring Kim Novak and Tony Curtis. Hence, their nick names were and still are Kim and Tony Kissoon. In fact, at birth, they were so identical that Anthony was tattooed on the left leg to ensure accurate and proper identity.

In his early years, Tony was educated at Mrs. Allen’s Primary School. He then proceeded to Elementary School at Sacred Heart R. C. School on Main Street. In those days, in order to enter one of the top schools in the country, it was necessary to pass the Common Entrance examination. This he did, and managed to gain entry into St. Stanislaus College on Brickdam in Georgetown.

In the early sixties, there was political turmoil and violence in the country and his parents decided to send both Kim, Tony and their third son Christopher, to Barbados. Tony continued to do well academically either placing first or second in his class. But his longing was to return home to Guyana.

After spending two terms at school in Barbados, he returned home and restarted at St. Stanislaus College. He was always studying and continued to do well at school. Being the only twins in
