About this ebook
Substance, integrity and selfless love abound in the North Georgia mountains! Dr. Clarence Drummond a well-respected minister expressed it best, Silvia has written a masterpiece! In the depiction of her characters and this story she has plumbed the depths of human depravity and reached the heights of human nobility. He predicts that MT will do more to transform Christian faith than has all the preaching that has ever been done here. Unlike the ridiculous Hollywood portrayal of mountain people as uneducated and bootleggers, Fontaine paints a realistic picture of an almost-forgotten moment in the 1930s and 1940s before the invasion of the electronic age. Through the intense love and heartache of the main character Latrelle comes alive as she matures from a young farm girl into an intelligent insightful woman.
S. BROOKS FONTAINE
S. Brooks Fontaine, the fourteenth of sixteen children born to a rural Georgia farmer, learned a real work ethic from her mother and grandmother. She also developed a gift of storytelling as demonstrated in Mountain Tribulations, her first novel. After graduating high school she completed Nursing School. Soon afterwards she married the love of her life, Lieutenant Bernie Fontaine as he emerged from the North Georgia mountains as an Army Airborne Ranger. After working in Vermont for ten years she returned to her beloved Georgia. Later, with four children at home, Fontaine went back to college for her MBA and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. She enjoys writing fiction, poetry and also some children stories. She and retired General Fontaine make their home in the beautiful North Georgia mountains.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent reading! The book took me back to Northern Georgia, where my parents were born. There are no murders, no who-done-its. Just a simple story about 3 generations of a Northern Georgia family-part Cherokee and part Irish.
