About this ebook
Dane Harrington, agent for the USA and Germany, is suspected of killing US Agent Michael Stockdale. Dane is now wanted by the USA and Germany. Somehow, he must find a way to clear his name before he can seek refuge in either country.
Ten-year-old Thomas Jennings finds a microchip in his cereal and, thinking it is a toy, takes it to his friend, 10-year-old Micah Harrington to put in his computer and see what is on the chip. What they find puts them both in danger. The two boys disappear and Captain Meyers puts Alec, Martin and Freda on the case.
As the case unfolds, the captain reveals to Alec why he has chosen him for special cases.

In 1996, I started writing my first novel, HEAVEN’S MISSION. It is about the people in a little town called Bethel, KS. The minister has been praying that the Lord would wake the little town from it’s lethargic attitude. The Lord and an angel named Mac are discussing the town throughout the entire book. Deep, dark secrets, including lies, greed, deceitfulness and even death lay beneath the surface of the little town. Everything starts unraveling and that which was hidden in darkness is brought to the light of day. This novel became a trilogy. The titles to the additional books are HEAVEN’S MISSION FOR A NEW GENERATION and LOVE TURNS LETHAL: HEAVEN PREVAILS. While writing this trilogy, I discovered a talent of writing about undercover police officers and their lives. This is a new series called TARGET UNDERCOVER. The first book was FOREVER MARKED. It is about an undercover police officer who is trying to retire from his last job which nearly ended his life. However, his former partner whom he had trained personally has turned against the United States and has a weapon that could wipe out anything. It is up to him to stop his partner. In addition to all this, he has a son and daughter that he must protect. The cover is the picture of a broken police badge and a gun. My husband and I have met 4 undercover police officers and I am now in contact with the wife of an undercover officer whose identity cannot be revealed because of the line of work her husband was in. She bought the book FOREVER MARKED and has informed me that the content is so true, even more than I realized. Future books for this project, not yet finished are VITAL HARVEST, MESSAGE DECODER, and THE PREACHER. Some of the characters from the HEAVEN’S MISSION series join with the TARGET UNDERCOVER series. My husband and I moved to Warsaw, MO after living in Kansas City, MO for over 40 years. We have a son and daughter and three granddaughters. While in Kansas City, we were Childrens’ Church Directors in the church we attended. My husband and I now attend Windsor Assembly of God church in Windsor, MO. All of my books have begun selling quickly. I always have a set of the Heaven’s Mission Series as well as Forever Marked with me. I never know when someone will want to buy them. My website for these books is www.ceceliadavisbooks.com

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I must always acknowledge my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for allowing me to write this series of stories with the realization that the stories have more value to them than I had previously known.
My sister, Susan for her many suggestions throughout the series.
My brother-in-law, Mike for his suggestions on the cover design of a previous book, The Corner.
My pastor and his wife, Reverend and Mrs. Gene Eckstrand for encouragement.
Wes and Kenneth, who made the characters, Alec Porter and Captain Meyers, come alive for me.
Last but in no way least, Trafford Publishing Company for their design and publishing.
PROLOGUE
A lec, Martin and Freda were eating dinner when someone rang the doo rbell.
I’ll get it,
Freda said. She looked through the peep hole. It’s Cap.
She opened the door. Come on in and join us for dinner.
Pull up a chair, Cap,
Alec told him. We’re having fried chicken.
Will do,
Cap said. Sorry this isn’t a social call though.
It usually isn’t,
Alec said. What’s up?
Cap sat at the table while Freda got him a plate and silverware. Ice tea?
she asked.
Sure.
Cap took a long drink and set the glass down. He looked at the three of them. This case is a hard one. I hate to even bring it to you, but the Feds have no idea what to do with it.
A look of concern crossed Alec’s face. We’ve been through tough situations in the past. Is it harder than any other case we’ve handled?
Martin and Freda looked at each other, then at their dad.
I’ll explain and you tell me,
Cap said. Someone has been stealing military secrets and messages. It appears to be coming from somewhere in Germany. A double agent for the USA and Germany is suspected of killing another US Agent. He is now wanted in both Germany and the United States as a traitor.
Alec whistled. What do you want us to do?
Be ready to act on a moment’s notice,
Cap said. Can you handle it?
Alec looked at Martin, then Freda. What do you two think?
This is a first,
Freda said. But I’m willing to give it a shot.
Martin nodded. Me, too.
I guess it’s unanimous,
Alec said. Just tell us what to you want us to do.
CHAPTER ONE
F reda glanced at the television as the 6:00 p.m. news came on. Turn the sound up!
she shouted from the kitchen. She tossed the dish towel on the counter and went into the living room.
Oh, that’s right,
Martin teased. Your true love is on TV again.
He laughed and ducked when she threw a sofa pillow at him.
He’s not my true love,
she said in protest. I just think he’s attractive.
Alec entered the room. Let’s listen to this,
he commented and turned up the volume.
This is Brandon Fischer with the Six o’clock news. The purpose for the two hour shut down of the Wilhelm Cereal Factory is to honor Michael Stockdale.
He spoke to the camera man. Gabe, focus the camera toward the stage of this vast auditorium so we can watch and listen to what they have to say.
A man stepped to the podium microphone. As most of you know, I’m Ruben Bremmer, CEO of Wilhelm Cereals.
Ruben Bremmer had his arm around the shoulder of one of the workers. The worker, wearing blue jeans and a plaid long-sleeved shirt, kept his head down. When he raised his head to look up, his face was flushed.
Most of you know Michael Stockdale. He came to us from the United States five years ago,
Mr. Bremmer said.
Gabe kept the camera focused on both men as Michael fidgeted nervously. Mr. Bremmer stepped back and urged him forward. The auditorium resounded with cheering and clapping. He stood there looking down. When the cheering finally stopped, he spoke with great emotion in his voice.
Mr. Bremmer, I don’t deserve this,
he said and sniffed.
The cheering started again.
I didn’t do anything that any one of you wouldn’t have done.
Cheering rose. Mi-chael! Mi-chael!
The chanting went on for several seconds. Michael stepped back from the podium, looked at Mr. Bremmer and shook his head.
That’s our Michael,
said Mr. Bremmer. Humble doesn’t begin to describe him.

Elsewhere in the United States . . .
Paul Barkley and Alton Miner watched the news on a 32-inch color television set in the Mammoth Springs Hotel.
If those people knew what our Michael had been doing for the past three years, it would blow their minds,
said Alton. He laughed and then frowned. What do you think will happen if they catch on to what he’s been doing?
Alton, don’t worry. They won’t catch on to what he’s been doing,
Paul told him. He’s too good.
Paul started to turn off the set when Alton stopped him. I want to hear what good deed he has done this time.

Reuben Bremmer was speaking. Michael took quick action when a disgruntled employee walked into this plant with enough explosives attached to his waist to blow up the entire area. Michael quickly rushed the employee and grabbed the remote he held before anything could be done. He then talked to the man like a friend until the police were able to apprehend him.
