How to Strengthen Your Walk with God
()
About this ebook
To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24
I cant say enough about how much I enjoyed this book. Love the authors commentaries on verses from the Bible and how she speaks from personal experiences. The author truly believe that God is the answer for whats missing in our lives, and when the battle to reach God gets hard, that when we pray, rejoice, and read the bible. This isnt just a book but a light that guides me out of the dark. Read, learn, and enjoy this book. I highly recommend.

About The Author
DEDICATION
36481.pngI dedicate this book to all the women and men of this world to help you to understand that time is of the essence. All God wants you to do is to line your life up with his Word. It is time for you to make up your mind now, to get it right with God. God is all about love, peace, joy; he loves you so much that he allowed his son, Jesus, to die on the cross for all of us. During some of the darkest times on my journey as a Christian single, I had to learn that I must lean on God’s Word to help me each and every day of my life. The scriptures listed below have served me with comfort and peace: Ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people
(2 Corinthians 6:16). All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth… and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen
(Matthew 28:18 and 20).
INSCRIPTION
36481.pngI inscribe How to Strengthen Your Walk with God to my late mother and father, Fannie and James King. They were my angels on earth. Their unwavering love, faith, and dedication toward God, our family, and myself are beyond my comprehension. As I grew up watching my parents press toward the mark for the prize, that incorruptible crown in heaven of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, my own faith was molded and strengthened. Thank you for leading me to Christ. I will always love and cherish those last moments that we had together.
DIVINE ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
36481.pngAlmighty God, you are my Heavenly Father, the Holy Creator, the Good Shepherd, and my only Sustainer. Lord, I am totally dependent on the love, grace, and mercy that you have showered on me. I’m totally grateful, Jesus, because you are my Lord, my Savior, and my Redeemer. Holy Spirit, I thank you for being my Comforter and my Intercessor, my strength and my guide into all spiritual truth and maturity. It was you that gave me what I needed to make it through each day of my life. Holy Trinity, I am forever indebted to you. My protection and my provisions all come from you, God. According to your desire, I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
My spirituality and faith is growing because you have ordained it. Although I am still very much a work in progress, you have chosen me. You have met me where I was, to make me become what you have appointed me to be and to do what you have appointed me to do. Lord, I thank you for giving me this opportunity to write this book. I am privileged because you have allowed me the opportunity to use your Word and my spiritual growth and personal experiences to encourage the hearts of others who are hurt, broken, confused, and lost in relationships that are not of you, God.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
36481.pngThere were times while writing this book when my faith was challenged and I experienced spiritual warfare like never before. I always questioned myself if I should finish this book, but God sent saints in my path to encourage me. I would like to acknowledge and express my gratitude to Apostle Cornell Hamilton and Bishop R. G. Mason II. Thank you for the CD that you have made available to provide me with godly advice and words of comfort to my heart. I want to thank my family: my daughter, Rachael; my sons, Nathan, Joe, and Michael; and my grandchildren. You are all full of love, wisdom, encouragement, and support. I want to thank my sister, brother, niece, cousins, and friends. Your prayers, love, and encouragement avail much. I am grateful to the following churches for developing my faith: Gospel Tabernacle Church of Dallas, Texas, and From Bondage to Freedom Outreach Ministries, Impact Church of Shreveport, Louisiana. Thank you all for lifting up my spirit.
INTRODUCTION
36481.pngWhat inspired me to write this book is the love that I have for God. After talking to so many men and women about their relationships with others and with themselves, I’ve discovered that most of them are in great pain. I pray and ask God for the answers.
What can I do to get people to understand that it is all about you, God? This book is dedicated to the men and women who are bound spiritually, emotionally, and mentally in a relationship, whether it’s in the present or in the past. I want to help them to strengthen their walk and relationship with God and to understand that God must be their all.
This is not to condemn or judge any woman or man but to help them to understand what God can do. Here is what I learned about trusting him. You learn to trust God by trusting God. You will never learn to trust God by watching someone else do it or by reading about it in some book. You only trust God by actually doing it. As God began to inspire me to write this book, he made me realize that I had to tell his people in detail of the goodness of his son, Jesus. You will discover in reading this book what God has done for me in my life.
I ended up with a broken heart that took me right back to horrible memories of my past. My heart was killing me, and I wanted out. I didn’t want to feel this horrible pain. No matter where I went, what I did, this pain would not leave me. I knew that the only thing that would help me was God. I started praying and talking to God again. My days aren’t always good, but I am beginning to see the light again. I am beginning to feel the light again.
We need God’s Word. We must understand that we have everything we need in God alone! There will always be distractions in life that will try to make us disbelieve God’s Word. From chapter 1 to chapter 40, every typed word is for both men and women. I want to help you understand that obedience to God’s commands helps us to escape the danger zone. Please don’t forget that in the beginning God made them both, male and female created he them.
When we get it right with God, our relationships will come alive. As you read this book, don’t just read with your mind but with an open heart, spirit, and imagination. May the voice of God speak to you in a fresh, refreshing, and refueling way with clarity and confirmation!
CHAPTER 1
36481.pngHow Badly Do You Want
What God Has for You?
I F YOU WANT IT badly enough, you can get it. If you don’t get it, it’s because you didn’t want it badly enough. We must desire Christ above all else. Remind yourself of how nice it is to be able to walk and breathe and think and pray. If we don’t have Christ, it’s because we don’t want Christ. Jesus asks us what it profits a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul. Amazingly, all too many people are willing to lose their souls for a lot less than the whole world. They desire other things
