Nelson Mandela: a Purpose Fulfilled: Mr. Mandela Explained

About this ebook
Nelson Mandela: A purpose Fulfilled
Uniquely considers Mr. Mandela, not merely from a historical viewpoint, but in explaining him as a significant figure in history shows the reader how to benefit from his extraordinary life in his or her own respective vocations. Therefore, it paints Mandela as a source of inspiration, not just of historical interest, leaving the reader much more fulfilled, invigorated, and if he is really keen, inspired for greater self fulfillment.

SUMMARY
NELSON MANDELA: A PURPOSE FULFILLED is essentially a personal tribute to one of the most inspiring and outstanding leaders, and in fact, personality who has sojourned the earth, and I am sure, speaks like the voice also, of those who perceiving him as such, would equally like to pay him such tribute.
Many are the people who, at one time or the other, crave for an ideal society for every human being. Rarely however, does anyone really devote himself, particularly in any reasonable magnitude, and in the way that is necessary to contribute to such a realization, even when the opportunity presents itself boldly as challenges or in the way of the neediness and suffering of their fellow humans. More unfortunately, however, it is often triggered into a situation of the survival of the fittest, if not the deliberate worsening of an already bad situation, or the actual institution of such a situation, even! Beyond the narrow and selfish concerns for family, and sometimes strict personal considerations, life offers no greater horizon or concern to many. As a result, much that world, and the individual himself would have benefited from even a minimal contribution in this light is lost.
Therein lies the exemplary and almost unparalleled greatness of Mr. Mandela- his unusually steadfast and obsessive devotion to realize such an ideal in the framework of a situation that threatened it profoundly. And even more significantly so in front of a virtually implacable adversity. Apartheid stands out as one of the sorest spots of human history, a bold, deadly and uncompromising drama, as unfortunate as it was, of man against man.
In Mandela is depicted the most glaring antithesis of the system, and with it, the simultaneous impetus to deliver just freedom and deliverance to its victims, like its perpetrators, from an obsessive and implacable madness of a system, in the process, justifying like few men have done man’s claim to civilization.
And simultaneously, he offers with his own living example a great source of inspiration to individuals, leaders and entire peoples, the sacredness and nobility of life, the respect for individual rights as an integral part of human existence, irrespective of racial, social, sex, age consideration, or otherwise.
Nor does he provide such inspiration only from the perspective of political leadership, but invariably, in all variations and shades of life, on the basis of devotion, a keen sense of justice and respect for another, and supremely, genuine concern for all, friend and foe alike. For an indefinitely long time to come, he must remain the idol of many, for in his exemplary life the effects of his activities have not only touched this many directly, profoundly and positively, but also many, indirectly as well.
INTRODUCTION
Most humans are evidently contented at any given time with the apparent comfort of an uneventful or mediocre existence, rarely suspecting that it is an obligation to take the necessary step into excellence or distinction, nor even for that matter, suspecting the existence of such a possibility, which they generally attribute, anyway, to the privilege of a chosen few. Their existence is therefore obviously characteristic of a monotony of their lowly pursuits and achievements, which left entirely to them must retrogressively characterize the universal flow of civilization.
Once in a while, however, a great stir descends upon the earth with an impetus that shatters this uninspiring monotony, and gives a new pace and dimension to the inexorable flow of human civilization and development. These stirs constitute the great men and women who, through their distinguished and furthering achievements have left indelible prints in history.. While a rare few of them have effected this through an inherently conscious responsibility towards life, the great majority have in so literally and practically been responding to some great need of the moment, whether it is the need for some invention, a discovery, the cure of a fatal disease, spiritual enlightenment or alleviation of the sufferings of their fellow men. In so doing, they are simultaneously, or should constitute a living example to the rest.
In 1948, South Africa reached a historic moment. It had the opportunity to erase its monotonous and unpleasant past of racial discrimination and institute a fair society for the good of all, to maintain the status quo, or still, to give a worse dimension to that dispensation. Incidentally, with the succession of the National party to power it, chose the latter, and inevitably, within the framework of a novel and ruthless system called apartheid, the dimension of subjugation deteriorated dramatically.
In this development, a great need was simultaneously born-the need to give freedom and a better life to the shackled, more than ever, and the need to turn its rich multiracial reality from a malediction to a benediction. The ideal soil had been created to give the world one of its truly great sons, for the necessity of the advancement, now more imperative than ever. He came in the person of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
