PREFACE

I

The time is three-hundred years into the future. The setting, America, or what is recognized the world over as ,the good ol’ U. S. of A. There has been much change within our world, but sadly in some areas, not for the better. However in those more developed nuclear nations, this said change has come at a low and very cheap price, as the sense and right of freedom has not waned into the distant, and now more forested horizon.

Since the years of the 1970’s, man has continued to avidly evolve the computer, this mechanical, or electronic brain that has revolutionized the world as we know it, as well as fat into the future. As mentioned, man’s quest to evolve the computer soon dawned the eminent ‘computer era. However equally during, and following that very specific time in the long ago annals of our American history, the subject of medicine has, like the computer, continued to evolve at an alarming rate of explosive interest as well as research to get ahead of the race for survival. The world of medicine differs in a small way in accompaniment to this exceeding rate as it races against time and diverse disease and illness that has been refusing to elude man and his environment since he first walked the ancient, primeval forests. Eventually, even as far back as the 1980’s and the early 1990’s, created a biological-technical, or simply known as ‘bio-technical ,reveloution that had set afloat a new wave of medicine that would soon grow into both public and professional mainstreams. The bio-technical movement consisted of the manipulation of micro computers, or micro chips inserted inserted into the body and attached to certain nerve bundles within a person’s crippled limbs, as these tiny chips would relay a signal measured in nanoseconds, back to the recipient’s paralyzed nerves, (neurons and dendrites) ,which created movement of these once completely useless parts of the human body.

Man, as he so often does, remain unsatisfied with his milestone achievements, hence more experimentations continued. However along with these nationally acclaimed milestones, as well as the unyielding drive to achieve, the earth was still altering it presence and it’s overall environment , yet as noted, for the better, as if a reversal effect had begun to take a fervent place in the worldly experience. Meaning as the years went by, and in the following century, the twenty-second century, all laws became green in a mandatory way that would benefit everyone, especially concerning industry like recycling, and the building of homes, zoning codes for both business and residential, there was environmental conservation and repair, caring for sick and injured wildlife, or decontamination of damaged land by spillage of noxious chemicals, the proper management of waste, cleaner water, as well as a drastic slowing of the manufacturing of frivolous goods that only use up our precious natural resources. But this wonderful change caused a tremendous worldwide loss of needed jobs to provide for peoples’ families, yet at the same time, there suddenly was erected more opportunities for these misplaced people to receive the necessary education that would better their lives, etc.

The state of living in most areas of the ever changing world, had miraculously cleaned up as the poor and underprivileged received the realistic and tangible assistance to rise out of their terrible and often despairful plight of suffering and powerlessness. The communities had insidiously grew over time to accommodate for the inconceivable increase of our human population, but equally there existed boundaries that were manifested and maintained under the strictest of laws possible to protect the once dwindling wildlife that literally sustains our very lives as well as the life of the earth in which we live. However terrorism still exists in the Middle East, and in other distant and isolated areas of the planet, but there is certainly far less bloodshed, as this too was under the strictest watch if one should conspire to inflict terror, etc. The production of food to feed the international populous has doubled and even tripled in some areas, but at the same time, careful management of this vital process and how the land is treated, has only improved this necessary industry to feed the ever increasing masses. But like all things significant of despair and poverty, starvation and hunger still existed.

It was during sometime in the mid part of the twenty-first century, something emerged from the ever increasing and steady marriage and research of the medical field of bio-technics.. In fact, this hybrid’ paved the misty, but ever clearing beginning, for a new race of people to live freely and objectively beside the image of man. But this hybrid’ is not what the story is fixating about, nor what it is named after. Rather it was the primer for a new era for mortal man to face, as well as to constantly reaffirm his intentions, as well as his ideas about his Creator, and to actualize the true fact that man is NOT his own messiah. For he cannot take precedence on himself, and regardless of what it was he managed to create behind the Catholic church’s back. This mentioned hybrid was born in a laboratory and in the U. S. ,in California’s Silicon Valley ,which had not even begun to fade in the foreground of technology’s fervent mainstream. A specialized team of scientists, with combined fields and talents, for years, attempted to truly and compassionately help those of mankind whom are seriously physically and mentally handicapped. Once more, by the manipulation of tiny computer chips and motors , as well as newly developed and modified designs of these mentioned micro computers, has set the unseeing stage set of a new form of life that they never suspected, and would be completely competent and rivaling to his own.

The mind of man.

An actual child was born out of a willing human female specimen to be artificially inseminated with a chemical compound of D. N. A., or deoxyribonucleic acid, and the R. N. A., which is an actual imprint of the D. N. A. , that is transported throughout the cellular organelles and structures, telling each component what to do, how to grow, etc.

However along with this chemical soup, there existed several tiny, tiny microscopic computer chips encoded with cellular information within them, as well as specially studied properties that would automatically respond to enzymatic change within this bodily environment , as they were equally submerged in human D. N. A. A special enzyme that is thusly included was a combination of what normally exists, and one that is artificially manufactured in a laboratory. This is called by it’s trade name as the T-44 enzyme, which is a growth hormone, but one that conforms easily to whatever the D. N. A. commands it to become.

In this particular case: A living, breathing, computer!

When the child was born, there existed a human body with all internal organs fully functioning and intact, yet there was a flat computer screen in place of the head, and a mouth concealed just below the thick outer encasement of the screen. In back of the head, there was a small perfusion, which was found to contain a considerably small cranial cortex, as well as the rest of the human brain’s anatomy. The mother who had given birth to this child’ was relocated, and given a new name and identity, social security number, and a cow to never speak a word of what she had so willing chosen to assist to create. In all actuality, this woman never laid her eyes on the hybrid child ,as she equally never had been told just what she gave birth to. Very much likened to the famed Roswell’ files and cases that apparently took place sometime in the 1950’s, top secret information and immense cover ups were once again becoming the norm within the well hidden annals of the federal government, and in the world of combined sciences that had suddenly given birth to a ‘living" computer.

The child was given no name, nor was at first, suspected of having no personality whatsoever, as he was cared for under the strictest federal codes, and save for occasional contact with fully government certified professionals in particular fields of interest, he saw absolutely no one. Rather, he was observed closely under the eternal watch of computerized surveillance. Continuous medical testing, psychological tests that were combined with natural observations and interactions, were the daily routine for him. He grew under the ever watchful and critical eye of government scientists and personnel, but somehow he managed to thrive as this was easily seen and proven. The "child’ spoke exactly like we human beings do, and he ate and drank, as his body that is attached to the computer, performed all of the necessary tasks to both repair and sustain itself.

It was soon found after a few years of his existence, that he was gentle and capable of emotional warmth shed onto himself, as well as onto others around him. He was highly intelligent, but the intelligence was further learned like everyone else, as what is known as acquired intelligence. The child even dreamed as he slept, as well as revealed to the scientists what he saw and heard, as well as how these images made him feel. He was given continuous brainwave tests to measure his sleep patterns, as well as his brain activity. His living brain that was apparently intermingled with the elaborate computer, behaved exactly like our own, which included the famed R. E. M. stage of sleep, or what is translated into ‘rapid eye movement. Yet, he had no eyes, but sensors that manipulated the light around him, processed information within one part of the visual cortex, and the rest in the small, but very compact, central processor of the computer within. The near countless psychological reports revealed that this hybrid child" to be incapable of murderous thoughts and actions, even when purposely provoked under controlled conditions, but without his knowledge. However he could become angered, as some of the customary behaviors were the same, but the extremity of these said emotions were not like our own. Rather, the reactions were almost pious as well as far less intact as our sometimes volatile psychological state would cause us to be. Sorrows were experienced, as it would be intermittently evident in particular controlled situations and settings, but not at all in the customary characteristics associated with this often dominant emotion, were neither expressed nor felt.

The feeling of happiness and contentment was clearly evident, as well as the true dominant emotion, as had been the simplistic joy of communicating with those specialized people who cared for him, as well as kept him under controlled surveillance. It was later discovered by these selected secret government scientists, technicians, those involved in computer, or artificial intelligence, etc, that the computer section of the brain worked closely together with the with it’s biological counterpart. These two incredible components of logic and thought merged themselves together, but in a very harmonious and orderly way. These people also discovered that loneliness was also an emotion that was definitely experienced by this hybrid’ child at various instances. He often cried out loud when undergoing near continuous testing, particularly that of anything medical, but there were no tears that flowed, due to the latter. He would become medically ill from time to time, as the common cold, and many other infestations of bacteria and viruses would invade the hybrid’s" growing body. He responded well to prescribed antibiotics like the normally functioning human body.

By the time this hybrid aged fourteen, he became pregnant! They realized that he was apparently producing asexually, as he must be of two sexes, and in able to self procreate. During the long nine month term of the hybrid’s pregnancy, he allowed the selected authorized professionals whom were working with him, to perform countless tests on himself and his unborn child, but one with a combined brain. Meaning to be that of a computer, and that of human anatomy. Again, lacking certain neurons and dendrites in the brain’s central nervous system, or known as the C. N. S. ,hence lacking the intensity of certain emotions, and even due to forced and repeated stimulus only continued to prove this already well perceived and documented fact. He was later given the birth control pill, because in a year he became pregnant again, and the contraceptive worked efficiently. Tests were repeatedly performed on them, as they were proven healthy in every way.

However as the boy and son grew, these government officials and designated federal personnel realized that these hybrids were really ‘people ,and therefore they have rights and freedoms like us all. They are independent entities who appear to function in a way that had far surpassed anyones’ expectations, and never mind the actual close and exceedingly friendly bonds that they shared with them as barriers faded into a blurred screen of obscurity. For it was discovered as well, that the young hybrid’ was very protective of his child, as instinct and a realistic sense of caring, played an important role in this attribute of development. These feelings of compassion and an overwhelming calm appeared to always be emanating between these two as the cycle of an other living existence began with his second child. Eventually by the time the youthful hybrid turned to the age of twenty, and his first son was seven, they were finally given names, but no last names. It was rather that the last names be given to them as a series of numbers like a code. It was then to be decided that these computers served as absolutely no tangible form of threat to anyone whatsoever, even when purposely exposed to television related violence and newscasts that often revolved around terrorism that still exists and persists in the world, but in only a remaining few localized and isolated places of geographic areas of the world.

The were gradually brought into the public here, but beforehand, attention was strictly drawn to the national congress to acquire permission to have them there in the first place, as it was immediately a heated controversy. At first, the immediate public in Silicon Valley was both mortified and horrified at the appearance of these two people who were now labeled as computer people. Seminars went worldwide and were performed by those government officials whom were personally involved with the overall creating and the in depth research, as well as the countless hypothesis that were summarized. This mentioned research evolved with the so called creators. Sides were, of course, greatly and widely divided amidst both the population of the laity, and in the scientific and medical communities. Some outright called them; abominations of nature. Other human rights groups welcomed them as people with rights and privileges as the rest of us, but with a purpose that would surely assist man extensively. Give them a chance! ,was the nationally acclaimed slogan that was constantly seen and heard on the streets, and in the hallowed halls of government.

The first two computers were on display and under very strict federal protection from police and other federal agents as they were allowed to accompany them while appearing in these seminars. They were both allowed to speak, as well as to answer important questions that manifested a sense of very human and religious values, beliefs, and decorum, but also how they truly feel about themselves, particularly in the leering eyes of the cynical public. Acceptance was hard to come by for the two, because most of them just could not see anything beyond, nor get past, the screens that were sadly serving as their faces and heads. However like anything, the passage of time often achieves the opening of a door towards acceptance and tolerance, as well as open mindedness.

It was found by the scientific community, as well as the international public, from all walks of life, that they are indeed very warm and loving people who much enjoy the opportunity to talk with those whom are not like them: Whom are not computers.

Father and son both expressed during these relatively countless seminars and showings, that they are truly happy with who, and what they are. We have no shame. ,Admits the young hybrid father of his small, yet growing child beside him. They even expressed to the countless thousands, that they love using non-living computers as well, as they not only receive enjoyment from them, but they as computers, are able to feel as if they are not the only ones in existence. They derive much comfort from using them, as well as seeing them.

As time continued, and the years rolled ever onward, the hybrid was finally at the age of thirty, while his first born son was eighteen, and who also had recently given birth to a son. However the national congress was still in the perplexing and ethical process and tug-of-war, drawing up both fair and rightful laws that would protect these people whom were very competent, as well as non-threatening to anyone anywhere. These political professionals had a lot to weigh on a scale of justice that, although has long ago been affirmed and tested, there was a sudden and often frightening alteration that appeared and was now considered as the new due-process. It was felt, after many years of political cases in the Supreme Court in Washington, D. C. ,that these people had certainly earned they’re rightful place amidst human society. Still however, neither one of these computers entered the public to stay, but when they had apparently entered the relative freedoms that most citizens avidly take for granted, they were happy and vibrant; Almost ebullient. They are people with souls. ,Most individuals had openly and very heartedly admitted to the continuously following media. They deserve to be here. They are not what we thought….We believe co-existence is essential to not only our own survival, but to theirs.

It was both analyzed and noted in depth about how this small, but growing family of computers interacted with the awe filled public who were conflicted with reservations and wanting to know them up close, as they became acquainted with them and their natural, and unnatural environments. The two children were exactly the same as all of those whom were not computers. They ran around in the grass and giggled, as well as enjoyed a cool ice cream cone, as the sense of true family was evidently seen as something completely realistic, as they themselves felt it was an essentiality. The adults who had grown past that specific time in their lives, were surprisingly not inhibited like those who were not computers. They talked freely about their feelings, but it was done in a very rational way, as well as highly suggestive of a human heart beating inside of them, as the solely non-‘computer behavior of men in this particular realm of expressing one’s innermost feelings was not macho. Not manly ,etc. They often combined their feelings and conversations with laughter and humor. The sense of ‘love’ that is shared here amidst them, is solely that of family love, and that of brotherly love, like the union of friends who share a normal sense of caring for the others’ well being. Emotional bonding is utterly the essence of these people with flat computer screens for heads and a soul that entirely human, but this all comes naturally to them, and is not held back under any apparent circumstance. The states of growing, developing, and aging, appears to be in exact proportion as all of those whom are not living computers, otherwise known by everyone as the computer people."

There was much research that continued, as well as government affairs and highly political interest in not only protecting them, these new citizens. But in effect, just how will they properly maintain a life outside of the top secret barriers that are now becoming increasingly less. Many serious questions continue to linger on the lips of both the citizenry and the and the White House, as well as in state governments, about how to preserve their right to live in the public community. A Bill Of Rights was instated after over a decade of work and ethical battles, but the document was finally finalized specifically for those living computers that covered all aspects of their lives, which included their older years, and medical and technical care. However the medical community endlessly and excitedly sought opportunities to continue extensive study on them, as well as to be able to observe their behaviors in both controlled and non-controlled environments and situations. A quasil, or a test in the psychological field and subfields, was ever proving highly and indisputably evident, that these people are in no danger to themselves, nor to the community, and in any given situation, either it be provoked, or not.

In the often insecure realm of the world’s public masses, more than 75%, mostly situated here in the U. S. and in Africa, were more than accepting of these hybrids and desired to have them amidst their communities when they became available. However in most areas of the world, the percentage of declination to accept them in their communities and workplaces was even higher than the latter, which roughly translated to a margin of 86%. People were truly afraid of them, while some were simply terrified at the very sight of them, because most feared that they were robots designed to take over the world, and not living people at all as the bio-technical communities expected them to believe. Yet at the same wavering moment, those individuals who chosen to actually meet them, immediately discovered them to be very sweet, gentle, and emotionally warm, as even a simplistic gesture like the customary handshake that is known the world over, was felt by these computers in the hands of regular people. All commented, It felt like strength, yet a tenderness that combined itself-wonderful. These gentle citizens were certainly making a statement each time people met them personally, as well as attended the countless seminars that took them all over the world. The children of these computers were happy and highly contented in their strange heads and the world that followed them everywhere they went, as privacy was not an option for them. They made others laugh, these children who continued being born, especially by their sense of non-inhibition in all realms of the mind, and equally the heart. Because as the offspring grew, they too spoke to the public at the podium that was spread over the world and on television, and on the internet, with the media circuit, and successfully communicated on how they really feel about being computers, but also that of just wanting to intermingle with all people. Although the first names of these first computer ‘hybrids’ have been lost, their codes, or last names, have been traced after many years of diligently searching.

It was 0400076. According to top secret F. B. I .archives that had not seen the light of day for almost three-hundred years.

After the first thirty-eight years since the initial ‘hybrid’ child was born in a surrogate mother’s human womb, the United Stated Congress signed the new Pact, or the Bill Of Rights, on international television and simulcast on the radio, as well as on the internet news channels. The official Pact allowed these "people’ to finally and officially enter and live in public society as long as they could. Laws were gradually passed into all of the mainstream governments over the years prior to simply protect them, and nothing more, which was from abuse and exploitations, this included future work and lodging opportunities.

Now it was accomplished.

More time has passed and the family worked and trained in the fields of computer technology. Living in California’s famed Silicon Valley certainly proved to be a great and welcomed advantage to them as not only a family, but as a people. Those who either worked along side them, or learned with them, found personal and emotional relations quite simple to acquire, as well as to sustain. As said, they are indeed very slow to anger, and they never, under any circumstance or stimulus, become violent in the slightest, as they are completely and normally incapable of this intensity of emotions of the negative as we.

The ways of this world have most definitely altered, but more so now that a family of living computers walks freely amidst them under their own power and cognitive thought and reason like that of a fellow human being. These same people were repeatedly followed by the ever encroaching media from relatively everywhere, but after an interval of approximately ten long and bothersome years, it suddenly ceased altogether, save for an occasional interruption from them-the media.

In the meantime, medical science and computer technologies have evolved rapidly along side them, as the studying of them was transferred into the public, and was no longer kept under the top secret watch of the federal governments abroad. All were allowed to assist and gain access to them, as well as to meet with them, and experience them. Documentations of how they are from all areas of the body and mind had started all over again, but the federal government refused to surrender their beginning. This was lost over the lengthy passage of time.

But as said, the family eventually gave birth which grew to hundreds, then to thousands, as some went into other parts of the world to assist them in the logical realm of computer technologies, and never manipulated their knowledge for the use of harm of terrorisms. They became assimilated with the language and cultures of each nation they were sent to, and enhanced our nation’s relations of good will and public awareness. These computers also helped the many languishing nations get ahead in the ways of technology with the computers used in medicine and in communications, etc. The suggestion amidst Congress for them to act as an envoy was mildly brought to attention to promote even better public relations with the countries that were more difficult to convince our friendship, although they had already received the computers they were asking for many years, as they anticipated their births. However, this suggestion of them acting as an envoy was soon abandoned. The American people, as well as people all around the world who received them, only wished for, these living computers, to be silent and helpful citizens they are, and have become amidst the different parts of the globe, and not to get involved in political issues.

In this same interval of often highly political times, medical science and technologies have evolved rapidly along side of the rapidly growing ‘nation’ of computer people whom are persistently all male. Some of these highly logical and compassionate souls branched out beyond what they were expected to be, and became doctors, as well as respected researchers in the world of bio-technics that spawned them, as well as most of them being the greatest computer programmers and technicians and specialists in the world. They are born with an inverted, or recessed port panel on the right side of their flat screens. They are able to actually physically connect themselves to non-living computers in the workplace, and at home, and talk with them, as their formatting of processing all information in this level, other than from a completely humanistic perspective, as the binary code. This enables them all to reciprocate perfectly well, but their downloading sense was not that of their non-living predecessors, as it was rather writing down what they have heard and seen, but there sometimes emits a display on their flat screens as well.

However suddenly, there was an upcoming and already well evident epidemic amidst the computer people- VIRUSES.

The long known and understood series of computer viruses that have plagued man’s invention, practically since the moment of the invention, when the first brand of machine, known as the U. N. I. V. A. C. came into being. The computer person became infected, and then grew very ill, but most generalized in the part of the body that was a computer; Their head that was interconnected to the living biological brain. A fellow computer scientist thought that these people could be healed by having the virus removed, but they had not yet known that there were several classes of them, but like the non-living computers, he suspected that the removal system would be the same. The infected computers of all ages were attached to downloadable software to actively destroy the virus. The method had worked for some, but not at all for others. Others had a non-removable virus that slowly, but certainly wreaked it’s devastating havoc on the computer, which also effected the living body attached to it. The parasympathetic nervous system of the living brain and in the body were reacting to the constantly disrupted signals and responses of the living computer from the viral infection that often turns into infestation. Scientists came together from all fields of internal medicine, bio-techincs, as well as neurological psychology , and the computer sciences combined with virus specialists, as they came together in droves here in the U. S. and from U.C. L. A., as well as many other medical-technological institutions throughout the country to discuss other ways of protecting and saving these people from the relative virus threat.

Many computer people whom were permanently infected became severely disabled over time, which included that of the physical body, as these victims would lose their ability to speak, to walk, to eat and swallow, and finally, to function at all, in what was considered as the last stages of what would later be labeled as , aterminal virus. However at the same instant, many children were suddenly being born with these same terminal viruses, but the parent was completely unaffected and seemed to contain no evidence of viral infection in this part of the body. The children affected with these viruses were born unable to cry, but rather they cried out in a strange tone of agony that was either labored, or was not. Their bodies were already poised in the fetal position, and were severely crippled in the movements of the limbs that were atrophied, which soon grew worse following their birth. The arms were bent in an upward position, as this was soon identified as the sign of a terminal virus, as the hands were also placed up at the edge of the underside of the screen. Some of these children were unable to swallow, so feeding tubes were immediately implanted into their stomachs to retain their lives until a possible cure for them was found. This, of course, extenuated the very realistic need for extensive research as well as the rights for these special people who came to us by accident. Specialized programs were already made to have skilled nursing and the proper medical and technical care that was substantially required to consistently assist them, as well as the families of these little victims.

As these virus ridden children were observed, it was soon found that the overall symptomology was much likened to a severely brain damaged child, but one who is not a living computer. Most die soon following the first few years or months of life, while there are others who live as long as the age of eight; Surprisingly no longer than that, as this appears to be the consistent time-line for them. Most computer families truly love their virus ridden children very much, as they are warm people who only want the best for their little ones, as those whom are not in this frame of being, and genuinely attempt to preserve their childrens’ rights to life, as well as all of the comforts that go along with it. Sadly however, there exist other computer families who do not follow the same loving criteria as their counterpart. Those usually end up giving them to science, but while still living, as they truly are incapable of murderous deeds. However science refuses them as well, as they cannot take care of them by state and government laws, so they are immediately transported to medical hospitals, then soon moved to nursing homes to take care of them there until they die, but again these facilities are for the computer population.

This cannot go on! ,The entire medical/technical communities of America got themselves together, as said. They combined their ideas feverishly, and came up with a very tangible solution to assist those with removable viruses. There exists a large computer that the patient’ is physically attached to , then copiously scanned for viruses. When viruses are discovered, large quantities of electric signals run through these special wires directly into the recipient’s computer, but without harming that person in any way. Each treatment weakens the virus, provided if it is removable, but the procedure does take it’s toll on the human body attached to it in some way. The usual symptoms are lethargy, weakness, and fatigue, as well as crankiness in younger children. Some experience accelerated heart rate and low blood sugars.
