THIS STORY TAKES PLACE IN 1952. TWO TEN YEAR CHILDREN, LESTER AND DORA, FROM TROY MONTANA, GET LOST IN THE "UNFORGIVING WILDERNESS" OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND ARE MIRACULOUSLY RETURNED HOME A YEAR LATER, AS IF THEY HAD NEVER LEFT.
THEY ENCOUNTER BEARS, COUGARS, AND ANIMALS MOST PEOPLE DON'T EVEN KNOW EXIST, INCLUDING THE MOST ELUSIVE CREATURE KNOW TO MAN, "SASQUATCH".
THEY BARELY ESCAPE TWO MURDEROUS CONVICTS AND A "MONSTROUS GRIZZLY BEAR" THAT STANDS OVER 12 FEET TALL.
A "FEROCIOUS PACK OF WOLVES" CHASE THEM DOWN A RIVER AND OVER A MAJESTIC WATER FALL INTO A "TERRIFYING WHIRLPOOL" THAT SUCKS THEM WAY DOWN INTO A "HUGE PITCH BLACK AND OMINOUS CAVERN".
PEOPLE FROM A SUBTERRANEAN CITY, RESCUE THEM FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE WHIRLPOOL AND TELEPATHICALLY TELL THEM ABOUT THEIR CITY, AND HOW TWO OF THEIR GIRLS WERE LOST ON THE SURFACE WORLD AND WERE NEVER FOUND.
THEY ALSO SHARED WITH LESTER AND DORA SECRETS OF OUR OWN ANCIENT HUMAN LIFE ON EARTH.
THESE PEOPLE RARELY GO TO THE SURFACE, BUT WHEN THEY DO THEY HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THEIR FORM INTO THE CREATURE WE KNOW AS "SASQUATCH".
THEY THEN TELEPORT THE CHILDREN BACK HOME TO TROY, MONTANA. TO THE EXACT SPOT AND TIME, AS IF THEY HAD NEVER LEFT.
LESTER AND DORA BOTH FEEL THEY HAVE A MISSION, AND THAT IS TO FIND THE TWO MISSING SUBTERRANEAN GIRLS AND RETURN THEM HOME TO THEIR OWN WORLD BELOW THE SURFACE.
THIS BRINGS US RIGHT INTO BOOK TWO. "THE SEARCH IS ON".
Ultimately rescuing BeeBee from the horrifying mountain, man known as Old Mad Jack, and being able to bring her back from deaths door, was a dangerous feat in itself, but in doing so Lester and Dora find themselves aboard a floating disk with the subterranean people known as Hgiahs and are at the beginning of the most dangerous and terrifying journey any human has ever undertaken when they are given the explosive task of discovering, "From Whence We came". Lester and his family had moved to Troy, Montana in June of 1952. They lived in an old trailer house, that his stepfather had set next to the railroad tracks in Troy. Lester had met Dora at the Fourth of July celebration in Troy, and they had become good friends.

Lester was a very adventuresome young man, and loved to do things out of the ordinary. Dora, on the other hand, was quick to come up with her own ideas, but had learned during the summer, that Lester was fun being with and she liked to hang out with him.

At the beginning of the school year, September 2nd 1952, Lester had talked Dora into jumping on top of an old steam train that occasionally past through Troy.

They found themselves on the train, with no way to get off and ended way up in Canada-lost.

They met many different kinds of animals, many of them very dangerous. Unexplained creatures they had never even heard about, and an old hermit.

After almost a full year lost, in the wilds of the Canadian wilderness, the children mysteriously return home, with very little memories of their wild and dangerous adventure.

This is the story of this Wild Canadian Adventure.

Without the help of my loving wife (Dora), my entire family, and several very special friends, this book may never have been written or published. Their encouragement, over the last year, has been nothing short of phenomenal.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

I take my grandchildren into the mountain wilderness, teaching them how to survive and learn the old ways. While we are on these excursions, I quite often tell them stories of my childhood.

This book was inspired by one of these stories, sparked by an adventure I had as a child growing up in Montana. Some actual facts and a lot of imagination are included in the story to keep folks of all ages spellbound.

PREFACE TO THE ADVENTURE

This is the story of two 10-year-old children living in Montana in 1952.

One of our main characters, Lester, would always think of an idea that would turn into quite an adventure. This year was no different and the following is the account of the fantastic ideas that he had this fall for an adventure of a lifetime.

Lester was a slight built young man with short blonde hair. He stood about 4 feet 6 inches tall. His brown eyes had a kindly look, and were always watching what was going on around him. He had a muscular build for a young man, and was always on the move. Of course, his sweetheart, Dora, was to be involved in this wild and somewhat dangerous adventure. Dora was a very pretty young lady, with long blondish hair, and a beautiful smile.

Being not quite as tall as Lester, and only 4 feet 4 inches tall, she thought she could whip anything that stood in her way. Her eyes were sort of a brownish green with a glint of mischievousness written all over them. And a beautiful smile, that Lester found captivating. Dora looked as if she could handle just about anything, which of course would be quite an attribute to have as they went on this adventure together.

The following is how Lester had come up with his idea and how it played out. Now for the very brave, hearty and adventuresome, we will embark on this wild Canadian adventure. Hold on to your seats and live this along with Dora and Lester. Here We Go!

CHAPTER 1

THE START

I was born and raised in Vancouver Washington. My father had been in the military during the North African Campaign and was fatally wounded. He passed away in 1945. I was only three years old at this time and my mother, Louise, had taken me to live with my grandparents in Camas, Washington. I lived there with my mother for the next 4 years.

We then moved to Goldendale, Washington in 1949, where my mother met and married Leonard. Leonard was a jack-of-all-trades and had studied to be a minister, but had never had a congregation of his own. He held minor jobs here and there but never long enough to support the family.

I had lived in Goldendale, Washington, with my mother and stepfather for the last three years.

In 1952, Leonard heard of a possible job opening in Troy, Montana. With his 1939 Studebaker and a 27-foot long silver dome trailer he packed up and moved us all to Montana. This is where the story really begins.

September 2, 1952, the day after Labor Day. The day school begins.

I was going into the fourth grade and was to attend school in Troy. My family and I lived in the trailer house next to the railroad tracks. I always enjoyed the old steam engines as they passed by and would watch them for hours on end. I enjoyed watching the black smoke bellow up from the big smoke stacks.

As the firebox was stoked with coal or wood, the engine would make the neatest sounds. Chuga chug-chug-chug, chuga chug-chug-chug, chuga chug-chug-chug, and the steam from the boilers would spew forth in great white clouds. Some of the trains would have over two hundred cars pulled by a single engine.

The trains would slow down as they went through the little town of Troy, and as they passed the old trailer house they would be going very slow. Slow enough for me to jump up on one of the cars, crawl up to the top of the car, and ride the train west about two miles, following the Kootenai river.

The tracks had a wide corner just under the highway bridge and the train would slow down and I would jump off, and run back to town.

Today was the first day of school. Like any other first day of school in Troy it was just a day of orientation. Being bored and wanting to do something with a little action in it. I pondered about it for a short while, then, remembered my friend Dora. We had met at the 4Th of July celebration, and

I felt she would be the perfect person to share my adventure with. Little did I realize how exciting, this would end up being.

CHAPTER 2

The plan

Class was to begin promptly at 9 a.m. The first bell rang, and I found Dora just about to enter the school.

As I ran up to her, she giggled and tried to avoid my rush, I just about ran over her in my now escalated excitement about what was in my mind. Dora looked at me and asked what my excitement was all about. Slewing forth a bunch of words so fast, that Dora could not even understand one word, she waited patiently until I had ran totally out breath, then she asked me.
