About this ebook

When angel encounters happened in my own family, with healing messages for me, and with my Sons angel appearing to him at the age of six, I began sharing our story with others. As they listened, many then began sharing their own miraculous stories with me.

These are true stories about life changing, divine interventions and angelic encounters. When angels appeared, many came with beautiful, and inspirational messages, full of loving guidance. Some stories are about individuals who were saved by their guardian angel. In some instances, their divine intervention helped to change the course they were on in their lives through the messages given to them by their angel. Many went on to complete their lifes destiny because of their blessed experience.

God has blessed us by providing each and every one of us guardian angels to guide and protect us throughout our lifetimes, until the day an angel leads our soul back to Heaven with God. As you read about these heavenly interventions, you will be inspired by each one of these beautiful and amazing stories.

Guardian Angels by My Side - Barbara Love

WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES US ABOUT ANGELS

The word angel actually comes from the Greek word angelos, which means messenger. The matching Hebrew word mal’ak has the same meaning. Angels appear in the Bible from the beginning to the end, from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. The Bible is our best source of knowledge about angels. For example, the book of Psalm indicates that humans have guardian angels. For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.(91:11)

Angels exist to praise God, and in doing so, they carry out God’s direction and His commands. Angels are holy. God created them, and they cannot appear to us without God asking them to intercede in our lives. He has blessed us by providing each and every one of us guardian angels to guide and protect us throughout our lives, until the day when an angel leads us back to heaven to be reunited with God.

There are a great number of angels who live in God’s great presence. They have tremendous power, and they possess superhuman intelligence. They can celebrate, have joy, hold conversations, and appear to people of all religions, even those of no religion at all, when God wants His people to listen.

Sometimes, humans who walk among us can appear as angels in disguise. As stated in Hebrews, Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares (13:1–2).

A FEW SCRIPTURAL PASSAGES ON ANGELS

The Fall of Adam and Eve

Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. (Genesis 3:23–24)

    Jacob’s Ladder

And Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it! (Genesis 28:10–12)

God Sends an Angel to Lead Moses

Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. (Exodus 23:20)

    The Book of Psalms

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. (Psalm 34:7)

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. (Psalm 91:11–12)

    The Angel Raphael

I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who stand ever ready to enter the presence of the Glory of the Lord. (Tobit 12:15) NJB (New Jerusalem Bible)

    The Angel Appears to Joseph

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 1:18–20)

    Daniel in the Lion’s Den

Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. (Daniel 6:19–22)

The Angel Gabriel Appears to Mary

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. (Luke 1:26–28)

An Angel Appears to the Shepherds

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. (Luke 2:8–14)

    The Resurrection of Jesus

But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked in the sepulchre, And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him. And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? Whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. (John 20:11–15)

The Angel Rescues Peter from Jail

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. (Acts 12:7–10)

Letter from Saint Paul to the Hebrews

Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. (Hebrews 13:1–2)

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. (Revelation 12:7–8)

Chief among the angels, the archangel Michael is considered the greatest of angels. His name means, Who is like God. He is an angel of repentance, mercy, and righteousness who appears in Islamic, Jewish, and Christian angelology, the study and doctrine of angels. Michael is often depicted with a sword, dressed in armor, and associated with shades of blue.

The archangel Gabriel presides over heaven, the prince of justice and chief of the angelic guards. His name means God is my strength. He is a messenger angel who appeared to the Virgin Mary. Gabriel is the angel of annunciation, heavenly mercy, resurrection, and revelation. Gabriel will blow the horn announcing the second coming of Christ.
