Memoirs From The Road To Everywhere Vol II Wild Boys and Girls Of The Road
()
About this ebook
"Wild Boys and Girls Of The Road" is Vol II of Sebastian Jaymes trilogy series "Memoirs From The road To Everywhere." Vol II is the continuation of a true adventure story.
The book opens with the author standing on the deck of a cruise boat on the Nile River in Egypt, reflecting on the most interesting life he has led.
The authors story begins with his Journey across country in a U-Drive It car from The North Coast of America to Los Angeles to begin a new life in California. He arrives in LA with only "a World War II knapsack with extra underwear, socks, an alternate pair of Jeans, and a few shirts, as well as writing materials and a book". Jaymes is on a mission to "see the world on someone else's dime".
Having previously been a roadie then a tour manager for two hit touring bands in the 1960s, he seeks work within the mainstream of the entertainment industry, his best bet for continued travel opportunities that can fulfill his desire to see the world. With no transportation and little money, he first takes every dead-end temp job from unloading boxcars to packaging film orders in a warehouse and everything in between.
Eventually he is able to afford a street legal dirt bike for transportation and works his way into the main stream of the entertainment business short term, as a tour manager for several successful touring artists. Then from a fluke referral he applies for a tour management position with a celebrity entertainer to find the only position available is that of roadie. With funds running out he accepts the position and is eventually catapulted into the highest levels of the industry. That leads to many adventures around the US and around the world. Starting at the bottom of the ladder with that artist, he works his way around the world and in the mainstream, through various jobs on tours and television. Several years later that artist, now a household word in entertainment, promotes him to the job he originally applied for.
When the artist retires, the author, now much in demand in his own right, works for many years with other headline artists on international projects in exotic locations across the globe. Then at a gala affair at the White House in Washington DC, he decides to call it quits to become a producer of worldwide events. The book closes with the author on the deck of the cruise boat on the Nile River reflecting on the even more adventure filled life he is about to embark on as a producer of international events in even more exotic and dangerous locales around the globe.
Sebastian Jaymes
Sebastian Jaymes - Biography Sebastian Jaymes grew up on the “North Coast" of America near Lake Erie. As a live show producer he has put together shows on exotic islands, Castles, Archaeological ruins, and exotic some-times dangerous locales in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Japan, Russia, the Caribbean, and around the world. Over the years he has worked with countless celebrity entertainers in Hollywood and worldwide. At a very early age, Jaymes decided he wanted to see the world. At the age of nineteen he began to realize that goal first as a roadie, then tour manager for two hit rock n roll bands. (One from Cleveland.) In the latter 1960's, Jaymes worked with an up and coming North Coast horn band that took him on a wild ride through the 60's counter culture. Settling in California in the early 1970's, he found himself in the mainstream of the Los Angeles entertainment industry, at first as a roadie, or a PA on network TV variety shows. He moved on to tour management of various celebrity artists, touring the world over and realizing his childhood dream to see the world on someone else's dime. For the next fifteen years, he hired out as a Freelance producer of large corporate events in many exotic locales around the world. ("I wanted to continue traveling internationally, so in between producing assignments I took on freelance projects as a live show technical director for corporate, TV, and live shows all over the world.") As freelance opportunities all but dried up in the economic slowdown of 2008, he furthered his previously established involvement with USO on celebrity entertainment events at military bases and in combat zones around the world. He has a passion for Archaeology and American Civil War history and has visited Civil War battlefields, ancient ruins, and museums around the world on his own dime. Jaymes currently lives in Southern California, writes books and screenplays, and has often been part of a USO team that puts together entertainment events for military families around the world. His first Book: Memoirs From The Road To Everywhere Vol. I The Road To Rock n Roll is part of a trilogy. Part II of his memoirs should be released in spring of 2018. Part III to follow later in the year.
