- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The truth is I haven't read this since I was a child, and don't remember it perfectly (I remember the movie well enough though, having watched it many times). I'm going through Scribd and marking as read and reviewing a number of books which I have read at some point in my life, for what purpose, I am not sure. I don't know if I would like this story as much if I read it for the first time today, but I give it a 5-star rating because I know that I loved it as a child. It was fun, just as the author intended it to be. These days as an adult, I don't so much like that he tried to take all the morals out of it and just have it be for pleasure, I like stories with a message of some sort. But my adult self was not Frank Baum's audience :).
