- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sweet and simple. A book that has a gentleness to it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love everything Patricia MacLachlan writes! And I love Chris Sheban's art. I love how many of Ms. MacLachlan's references in this book refer to other books she's written. For example, "Aunt Emma's dog with three names" is her picture book "Three Names." My favorite page is the illustration of a pied hound dog with a girl's hand lifting his upper lip and the words: "who tried to teach her dog to talk by moving his lips like hers". Reading anything by Ms. MacLachlan makes me want to be a writer, too.
