The cabin has been taken over as a hideout by a gang of killers. They kill Ashley's mother, but don't realize that Ashley was with her. Ashley must use her woodland knowledge and fast thinking, to keep from being discovered, and make her escape.

Joe Abell is a retired Indiana farmer. He has been a story creator all his life. Now, in retirement, he has the time to publish his stories. Being a student of history has given Joe the background for many of his stories. Joe is also indebted to his father. He has given Joe insightful views on the life of an age that has slipped away.

Stone Ridge Cabin nested in a small clearing, surrounded by thousands of acres of rugged Indiana forest.
The decision to go to the cabin was a spur of the moment thing.
Ashley had come home from college for the summer and had serious things to talk over with her mother, Ann. First, she was thinking of changing her major. When she had started college, she was sure of what she wanted to do with her life. Now, she was having second thoughts. Changing her major would add at least another year, plus the extra expense.
Then there was Brad. When she had started her relationship with Brad she was sure she had found her soul mate for life. Lately, she was starting to notice things about Brad that she didn’t like. Was she being too picky? Or, was this her young woman’s intuition telling her to get out now.
Ashley needed her mother’s thoughts on both matters.
