About this ebook

Two lovers, Song and Silence, spent an eternity in a perfectly harmonious union. That is until one of them disturbed their perfection intentionally. What could suffice as a cause for such romantic degradation? An astonishingly prolific gift.

I, Lex Benjamin, am a lifelong student of the sciences, philosophy, and meditation. Combining the three has afforded me perspective beyond what I once thought possible. As a result, my imagination is sparked continually by new experiences. Those experiences always make me wonder "what if?", or "why not?". I believe my unique vantage point is my gift to the world. My short stories and books are meant to expand the readers mind, hopefully generating a universe of new possibilities. I hope you enjoy looking through my eyes. "This Universe is Hilarious"

For longer than human words can describe, for longer than human minds can comprehend, two lovers existed in absolute harmony. One, infinite serenity, the other, infinite will. To say that there were two is misleading, they were truly one. Two halves of a complete whole. Unrivaled congruence resulting in a complete and perfect relationship.

Each lover's fundamentality, their very existence was owed to the perfection of their pairing. One's existence precluded the other’s. One's existence predicated by the other’s, cementing a self-referential loop of creation. Life and love bestowed through a perfection of negatives. Each so impeccably fit the other that their individual being alone was sufficient to sustain the serenity and the force of will that is their lover’s essence, eternally.

These two were more than mere concepts, they were beyond an ideal. Love is what they were, in its purest form. The physical and mental definition of the word.

Eternities came and went and the two lovers were content. At peace in their ideal union. Their equilibrium impeccable. Their fit, unassailable. Not a single fluctuation from balance to be had. A pin drop amounting to the Big Bang relative to the stability of their romantic excellence.

Not a word between the pair was needed as they understood each other in the truest and deepest sense imaginable. Incommunicado everlasting. Not one movement or motion warranted. Every need, satisfied. Every want, supplied through an embrace so tight and precise that wholeness, oneness, were the closest approximations to their bond. Even these words are woefully inadequate in describing this union of unions.

All-encompassing love relentlessly saturated their existence for a span of which time is no ruler. Time, a laughably inept form of measurement relative to the duration of their endearment. Time, the great arbiter of lesser and imperfect concepts has no dominion over a love this grand. No preeminence over this undying romance.

Indistinguishable from one another, effectively one, their beginnings and endings merged into solidified fluid perfection. Infinite and still waters most closely approximating their formless expanse. Joined, the two coalesced into a single impossibly still body. A sea, better yet, an ocean of love. A tranquil infinite blackness of a liquid.

On their first versary, or what a person would call an anniversary, a happening occurred. For beings beyond space and time, a year is meaningless as a marker of intervals. Versary prime, a celebration of their union, came after a near infinite expanse of no potential. Potentiality had been subjugated for nearly all time by absolute equilibrium. A period of anti-potential measured by the birth and death of an entire multiverse, and the near infinite interval between the birth of
