About this ebook

A modern Australian Drama set in Perth, Western Australia. Catch up with 'Green-eyes' and 'Snowscene', along with their indigenous, noongar, art teacher (from the first Brushstrokes, which was shortlisted in the 2014, William Todhunter literary award). In part 2 Skye ('Snow-scene') discovers she is pregnant. She isn't quite sure who the father is. Not that it matters, she isn't planning on keeping the baby. She searches for a way to get a late term termination over east. Meanwhile, her current boyfriend, indigenous Koori, Dylan (Green-eyes), is searching for something else, and her ex, Josh, is only seeking the next wave to catch as he flees possible parenthood.

I hope you enjoy this newest installment of the Brushstrokes drama. There are many more long stories to come, based on the original characters from the art class in Brushstrokes.

Dropping your swag in my bedroom doesn't make you my man, Skye said, twisting the unlit rollie in her fingers. You'll have to do better than that.

Like what? Dylan figured she was tripping again, or maybe she wanted a ring on it. Sometimes she could be old school like that. But that wasn’t the way things went when you were from the school of hard knocks, like he was. Maybe he’d give her a Burger Ring, but not a piece of tie-me-down gold.

If you don’t know what you want from me, how the hell am I supposed to know?

I don’t know, Skye repeated, more to herself than to him.

Dylan watched her get up. Light shone through the window panes, bouncing off her long golden hair and full buttocks. She lit the rollie and turned to face him. A couple of slow drags on the smoke were passed in near silence. A large plane rolled over the houses, like dry thunder, its engines sucking in the hot air and jetting it out again onto baked roof tiles. He laid back and stared at the circling ceiling fan.

Skye watched him. His glistening brown torso appeared split from his lower body by the pale doona, He looked like an ancient Greek statue. I should paint you like that.

    You paint landscapes, Dylan replied.
