About this ebook
Show Me Don't Tell Me eBooks are designed to be the digital version of traditional coffee table books. Their modest purpose is to commemorate the work of accomplished artists without excessive verbal commentary; to serve as a handy reference and guide in the intelligent use of color, line, form and composition for art students, art educators, and everyone interested in art as a means of personal expression; and, to present extraordinary fine art in order to expand the global gallery by offering exemplary artwork to interested persons around the world.
If you are an aspiring artist, the examples in this Series represent an eclectic mix of subject matter from abstracts and landscapes to portraits and people. Each is offered to encourage you to use your intuition to guide your artistic creative vision; that is, look at a given thing and ‘see’ its elements. Since there is no one right way to be creative, this series is intended to help you speak in your own unique voice; to express your creative view of the world through your particular lens; to express yourself in an unfettered way, unencumbered by the constraints of technique or method.
We believe that your innate ability to ‘see’ is sufficient to unlock the creativity within you. Although learning "technique" is important, the journey to discover your inner artist begins with replacing ‘looking’ with ‘seeing,’ and ‘thinking’ with ‘feeling.’ Thus, our mantra: "Show Me, Don't Tell Me."
Allan Brandon Hill
I am passionate about creative arts and artistic self expression, particularly through visual art and music. My philosophy is very simple: Art is for everyone, and everyone has a creative 'voice' within them that others would like to hear. Visual art (as with all other art) enhances our physical environment, caresses human Soul, uplifts the Spirit, and gently reveals the Divine Thumbprint to the seeing eye.
