About this ebook
This may be Kansas City, but Gulietta is certainly no Dorothy. Gulietta requires sex on an inhumanly frequent basis. It isn’t until the Roman immortal shapeshifter, Quintus, enters her life, revealing the identity of her father, that suddenly she’s whirled away to a magical land populated with satyrs, fairies, and shapeshifters. It seems her “problem” is not rooted in human sexual dysfunction after all. Gulietta finally discovers who and what her father is—as well as what she is. And Quintus has made it clear he is the man who can provide exactly what she needs. That is, if her father’s game plan doesn’t get in the way...
Nothing is what it seems in the satyr Antius’s domain. And a game that will change everything is about to begin. But Antius just may have underestimated his spirited satyress daughter. And he may find the tables turned by the headstrong female he thought to manipulate. Especially when Gulietta discovers the trick of lovers he’d tried to play on her.
Lives and freedoms hang in the balance. Gulietta is the hope for the future of the Sabine females in Antius’s court. Will she also be the savior of Quintus, who also has a secret yet to be shared? Once all is revealed, will Gulietta forgive the subterfuge in order to claim the biggest prize in the game, in a world that offers more than she could have ever imagined, perhaps even including love?

Darcy Abriel
Being a Cancer, Darcy Abriel always has been fond of deep, dark places. She’s enjoyed ghost stories and things that go bump in the night since she could first read. When she was in high school, she and her rock band boyfriend and his buddies from the band once spent a weekend in her basement with the Ouija Board contacting a revolutionary war ghost. She’s loved monster movies from an early age, and she’s used to odd looks from people. Facing demons, inner and outer, is one of the things Darcy enjoys most when it comes to writing stories. She calls her office, “the cave” and doesn’t always play well with others. Bu she tries.Darcy loves digging in and creating worlds wicked, and characters dangerous. Dark fantasy and dark erotica, breaking boundaries in genre and gender, blending angels and castrati, demons and gods, humans and succubi. You think you know who the hero is, but do you really? Whether it’s a succubus in “Deadeye,” the Viadine and Diadune in “Nightingale,” a contemporary troubled hero in “Cruel Memories,” or a steampunk dystopian intersexed world like Quentopolis, there’s nothing simple about these stories or the characters. How the heck do you mix gods and cowboys, pirates and zombies, and a whole range of other odd pairings? As far as Darcy’s concerned, the darker the better, the more complex, the more fun. Redemption takes many forms for Darcy’s characters. Take an idea, twist it, mold it, break it apart, and drive that stake even deeper into the quagmire. Spank it, whip it, stroke it, tease it, soothe it, romance it to death. You say it can’t be done? Here that naughty chuckle? That’s Darcy saying, “maybe...maybe not. Let me think about that for a minute. Muse mine, what do you think? Can we rock it hard?” Oh, yeah. Let’s play. Where’s my stash of strawberry Twizzlers, and the peacock blue ink for my fountain pen, the notebooks, the Tarot cards? Let’s do this.

1CHAPTER ONE
Satyr’s Court, Reate, Italy
The wide braided red leather collars were a striking improvement over the boring black of her father’s court. The father of whom she’d only recently learned the identity.
Red marked the members of her newly-appointed attendants. Gulietta rose from the green vine-entangled cedar throne. She pulled a succulent purple grape from the wooden tray and popped it into her mouth. As she bit down, sweet juice flooded her mouth. Gulietta’s gaze drifted around the courtyard as she stepped off the dais. Dancing stopped. Flute music and drums ceased as all eyes turned to her. Who would have thought this was where she would end up? Who could have known that her curiosity about the big black door in the photograph would lead to her destiny? This was certainly not what she had envisioned for herself.
She brushed a hand down the curve of her naked hip. She pushed her long black hair over her shoulder. In this land, behind the black door, clothing was optional. An afterthought.
Continue with the music,
she said as she strode across the garden, elves and fairies and lesser satyrs of the court making a path. Immediately the sound of music filled the courtyard once again. The fauns and nymphs began to dance, twirling and swaying to the light, cheerful music.
Take care, Gulietta. You push me too far.
Her smile faded. Her horns tingled. A rack of antlers, feminine, yet deadly. She whirled around to face the tall Roman who shadowed her every move.
Your duty is finished, Quintus. You have returned me to my supposedly rightful place. You have done your duty to my father. Why are you still here?
Like a cobra, deadly when pushed, Quintus struck quickly catching her off-guard. He gripped her slender hips and yanked
